  • Sony Reaching out to Aaron Sorkin to Pen Screenplay for Steve Jobs Movie

Sony is reportedly reaching out to Aaron Sorkin in an attempt to secure the author to pen the screenplay for the Steve Jobs Movie.

Sony acquired the movie rights to Walter Isaacson's Steve Jobs biography earlier this month. Sorkin previously penned the screenplay to The Social Network, and his success in adapting Facebook's story is rumored to be a big factor in Sony's efforts to secure Sorkin for Jobs screenplay.

Sorkin's previous work includes A Few Good Men, The West Wing, and recently Moneyball. Sorkin was even courted by Steve Jobs to write a film for Pixar, but ultimately declined because he couldn't "make inanimate objects talk."

Jobs: Once you make them talk they wonít be inanimate.

Sorkin: The truth is I donít know how to tell those stories. I have a young kid who loves Pixar movies and sheíll turn cartwheels if I tell her Iím writing one and I donít want to disappoint her by writing the only bad movie in the history of Pixar.
Sony hasn't finalized a timeline for the movie, and will not likely become concrete for some time. However, if Sony is able to score Sorkin, the Jobs film has an infinitely better chance to not suck as Sorkin is known for his ability to tackle stories involving the lives of "fiercely smart, if difficult, figures."

Sony, even if they botch this film, will likely have a box office hit on their hands. The outpouring of emotion and response Jobs' death has garnered will no doubt translate into ticket sales and if executed properly represent a finality to the life of Jobs.

They should just do the biography movie of him in a Pixar movie, that way no one will act as him and it will be done using the company jobs founded(:

I think that is a great idea! Nobody can fill Steve's shoes as an actor, or look exactly like him, it just would'nt be the same, but computer animation on the other hand with PIXAR would be awesome! And an example of what this great man did with his life. R.I.P Steve Jobs.

Steve Jobs was an amazing guy, but I would have zero interest in watching a movie about him. There would have to be a lot of embellishment I would think for a production like this not to put the audience to sleep.

Jobs isn't the founder of Pixar but the one who saved it when he pretty much purchased it before again pretty much selling it for his chance to be the largest stock holder in Disney.

Siri could do it, but they'd need to get someone else for the voice.

1970-1984 could be watchable, without much embellishment.
      1994-1997, too.
      Maybe 2007-2011.

For the stuff in between.... yeah. They need elves or wizards or something like that.
