Mythbusters Guys to Host Steve Jobs Documentary on Discovery Channel
The Discovery Channel
, in conjunction with NBC’s Peacock Productions, is currently working on a new documentary about the life and times of Steve Jobs. The one-hour special entitled, “iGenius: How Steve Jobs Changed the World,” will be hosted by Mythbusters
own Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman.
The documentary will feature interviews with several key figures in the life of Steve Jobs, including early Apple employee Daniel Kottke, who traveled to India with Jobs in search of spiritual enlightenment, Lee Felsenstein, founding member of the Homebrew Computing Club, John Draper, friend and engineer who gave Jobs his start in the world of computing and many more. Several musicians will also pay tribute to Jobs including Stevie Wonder and Pete Wentz.
“Someone once said that to follow the path that others have laid before you is a very reasonable course of action, therefore all progress is made by unreasonable men,” Savage
said. “Steve Jobs was an unreasonable man. He didn’t simply give the public what they wanted, he defined entirely new ways of thinking about our lives in the digital space: productivity, creativity, music, communication, media and art. He has touched, directly and indirectly, all of our lives.”
The Discovery Channel will air the documentary on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. After that, the program will air across the remaining Discovery Channel networks in 210 countries and territories.
