wait, so the iPhone 4 16GB and iPhone 4S 16GB are both going to be $199??? That doesn't make ONE BIT of sense!

So where are the technical specifications of the 4S? GSM bands anyone?

Read all my other post for the last week. I've been saying all along that there will be no new iPhone 5, just a faster iPhone. Why in the word would apple think I buy the same "faster" phone? Do they live under a rock? Unlike the original iPhone, there are many good phones out there with 4G, 3D, flash & bigger screens. I'm not letting apple rip me off this year. I now predict iPhone sales & there stock will fall. Hopefully Tim cook will then resign.

I'm thinking you can't really make those statements until you actually try out an iP4S.

Hmm, no larger screen. May just have to go with an iPhone 4 for $99. Or, maybe not. Meh, not very excited about any of this any more...

If your "majority" use is not meant for gaming or entertainment apps than why buy an iPhone? Its actually one of the many reason why you should even consider getting an iphone. If you don't play games, it isn't worth getting.
There are many other better phones with louder speakers, phone quality, camera than the iPhone.
And since iPhone is still behind in 3G .. there are some phones already in the 4G.

Unless you want to "get attention" or finally "want to fit into a crowd" who have basically no knowledge of technology and buy any apple product, get ripped off and be happy.

So I'm assuming many people are just buying it cause its an "Apple" Product or for the "Apple" logo?

its an educated guess judging by the fact that my Atrix is running a dual core tegra 2 @ 1.3ghz .. i believe the a5 is a dual core 1.5 ghz that runs on the iPad... iPhone 4 is a single core A4 if i recall, using these pieces of information i can make a reasonably accurate comparison.. and in opening apps the dual core CPU doesnt do it all that much faster.

They showed a slide of the iPhone 4S data speeds matching those of current so-called 4G phones. If that's true (they claim even faster speeds in real world over test environment) then how can you say they'r behind in 3G? And you haven't tried this new 4S yet with improved antenna, camera, data speeds, etc so you really have no way to make a comparison.

I don't play games much AT ALL with my iPhone but I sure as hell don't want anything with Android on it.

Im disappointed to say the least. I really wanted a bigger screen.

Now kids listen up. This is where you need to hold off if you already have the iphone 4 and wanted a new phone. If you dont hold off and get a 4S, you will be stuck like the 3Gs people are getting an interim model every two years. The 3Gs people, if they stuck to their contract, had to forgo the iphone 4 and now have to get the 4S. The same will happen with the iphone 5 really comes out next year and all those 4S people are going to be stuck again. I would stay away from this one if you are not in love with the iphone 4. The camera is awesome on the 4 already and so is video. Not to mention we are all getting the iOS 5 upgrade and its going to be like getting a new phone all over again. I say skip this phone and wait another year. Hell, maybe Apple will go back to their summer release. I say the S in 4S stands for skip.

      Sad day for apple lovers.

You would only see real benefits in games, multitasking, and also benchmark especially. Possible that opening apps could be a sec faster.

Right so corporations buy the iPhone to play games and watch movies... didn't think so. They buy it due to its ease of use and speed, I agree ill pass on this iphone for the first time ever since they arrived. Not excited not a big enough upgrade for me. The 3G to the 3GS was noticeable my iphone 4 is still quick on ios5 so i see no real need to splash 300 for a slightly faster iphone.

I'm with you! I'm going to AT&T after work to pick one up... Unless I can't wait that long and have to just order online.

The only thing intriguing about this is Siri... So will Siri run on anything ios5 or just ip4s is my big question... Sorry if I missed this piece of info.

Siri will only be on the 4S is what I understood. Maybe on the 4 but doubtful, and definitely not on 3GS.

Think of it as a "hardware improvement".
Same like computers right? If you have the money to upgrade you will always be on top of many others but will also benefit from the upgrade in speed, features, etc. but getting stuck on another year of contract hurts.

This upgrade seems like it's mainly focused for:
users who have 3G or 3GS to 4gs.

Something's not right here. That Case Mate leak seemed very legitimate because it matched nearly every other case leak before it with its design. And the website was immediately pulled and swapped with a landing page.

Something tells me Apple is launching the iPhone 5 early next year. But obviously they won't announce it now because it will kill iPhone 4S sales.

It just doesn't feel right with all the case leaks being leaked and no iPhone 5.
