  • Apple Denying Retail Employees Vacation Time During Second Week of October

AppleInsider is reporting Apple is blacking out vacation time during the 2nd week of October.

Apple is “quietly” denying employee requests for vacation time between October 9-12th and 12-15th. Apple commonly practices vacation blackouts during new product launches and the blacked out dates are usually the best indicator of when a new product will launch.

The first set of dates—October 9-12—most likely represents the iOS 5 launch. Apple has informed AppleCare to expect an increase in support calls starting October 10th, which coincides with Twitter’s announcement of their own developer session on the same date with a “heavy focus on the iOS 5 Twitter integration.”

The second set of dates—October 14-15—suggest Apple is preparing for their usual Friday new product releases. Friday the 14th will most likely be the launch of whatever products Apple announces at the media event their rumored to be hosting October 4th.

Obviously, Apple hasn’t confirmed these dates, and their significance just speculation, but all the signs point to Apple announcing and releasing some sort of new product by the middle of October.

So, announce on 4/10 with iOS5 available to Devs then. Public release of iOS5 9-10/11 and iPhone 5 following on 14th.

Does not sound unreasonable to me.

Which means it's almost certainly wrong....

Friday the 14th.....in October with halloween just around the corner.....SCARY!!

I say this release date increases the chance of another "DEATH GRIP" incident!

Or perhaps worse...."MURDEROUS TOUCH SCREEN" incident! If the screen is touched with 23 fingers simultaneously...everyone that has a finger on the screen dies instantly! PR nightmare!

Don't really know exactly when the announcement is, but we are clearly now 12 seconds closer and counting.
