  • Canadian Carrier Telus Slashes iPhone 4 Price to $99

Canadian Carrier Telus is the first carrier to slash the price of the iPhone 4 to CAD$99 ahead of the iPhone 5 launch.

Users signing a 3-year plan (and I though two years was bad) with telus will see the price of the iPhone 4 drop from CAD$159.95 to CAD$99, but the offer is only available until September 7th. The end date to this deal seems a little odd considering the latest reports peg the iPhone 5 launch date on October 7th, with pre-orders starting September 28th or 29th.

Other reports are claiming that Best Buy could be offering the iPhone 3GS for free with a two-year plan starting August 22nd in conjunction with a major promotion leading up to the new iPhone's launch.

This is only the beginning to what is likely going to be a very long month of waiting and retail and carrier specials.

Ummmm....ya no. Try using a currency conversion site next time. $99.99CAD is roughly $101.30 American.

3 years is too long to be locked into a contract. Period.

With most Canadian carriers, contracts are 3 years but you can get a upgrade after 2 for the same price as a new contract

You can't buy a subsidized iPhone from the Big 3 (Rogers, Bell and Telus) without a 3 year contract. They are all in Cahoots with no competition, offering the same plans at the same price point.
