  • AndroidLock: Lock/Unlock your iPhone, Android Style

An Android phone features a unique lockscreen, where you have to connect various dots to unlock your phone rather than enter in a passcode or slide to unlock. There are 9 dots in total, and gives a little extra security just incase your friend happens to look over while you punch in your numbered code.

Just released to Rock and Cydia, comes AndroidLock, available now for free. This iPhone and iPod tweak will transform your iPhone lockscreen into an Android styled lockscreen where you connect dots in the same manner to unlock your phone. Simply draw the pattern to unlock.

After installing it, go to Settings > AndroidLock, to set the pattern. Requires 4 or more dots to be used.
On a side note, there were many discussions about the androids security flaws in their lockscreen method being hackable by a certain combination, however, my guess is there will be some sort of issue here, some way to get around it. We'll soon find out.

it claims to update, but still shows as update available thru cydia. also when i go to the mobilesubstrate toggles in sbsettings, it's now listed twice as if it just downloaded the original a second time. i'm about 99.9% possitive the update is screwed up.

I like it .... The only options I would add are: On/Off and transparency.

I use the original version 1.0.1 WITH lockinfo. The circles that replace the 'slide to unlock' are bright and the ones in the lockinfo calendar area are dimmed and appear behind my calendar info. It's perfect.

I also kept the passcode enabled. Together they provide dual security and really fool those who want to break into my phone. The passcode doesn't appear until after the andriod sequence is entered correctly. I love it -- totally non-Apple

The new versions 1.0.2 and 1.0.3 won't install because they claim incompatibility with lockinfo. But I'm having a great time with 1.0.1 and don't see any incompatibility problems at all.

Transparent is the wrong way to go what he needs to do is program it to have a comet like tracer follow your finger but leave no hard line like it does. A 1 inch white to black or whatever tracer would show you what your doing but if anyone looks over at it and cant see it clearly wont know what it was.

Umm, what is the difference between the 1.0-3 version on the BigBoss repo, and the 2.0-1 version on the BeYouriPhone repo?

is there any way to modify this so that i can keep my custom slide to unlock slider, then have this pop up after i slide, as opposed to the default tap to unlock? i was going to look around and try to customize it myself but for the life of me i can't find where it's installed to on the iphone. it's not with the other cydia apps because it doesn't actually create an icon on the phone, only in the settings, which apparently justifies a different classification and install area. anyone know where it's at?

the 2.01 version has transparency, the option to toggle on/off and the option to "tap to unlock". Sweet, but i would prefer to use my custom slider to "slide to unlock" and then use the Androidlock...

An awesome modification for this would be the ability to hide it on certain Cydgets, e.g. don't show it on anything but the default 'away view' cydget.

I tried looking through the cydget code to find how to hide even the normal 'slide to unlock' but I didn't have too much luck.

      awesome add-on though!

Agreed, although the "tap to unlock" feature does at least allow me to continue to use lockinfo as it was intended.

I am experiencing this same issue. I would assume it is something that has to be fixed by the developer.

a separate, but related, issue seems to be that the sms popup also shows behind any cydget content, which means I cannot double-tap and reply (using SMS Quick Reply) unless I am on the 'away' screen.

Great app been waiting for this for a long time. Only thing I ever really liked about the Android OS.

Does anyone know the developer, it would be nice if you could adjust the transparency with a slider in the settings for the background square behind the dots. So people could have their wallpaper show and not be dimmed out. Just a suggestion for the next release.

Undertoe they have that with 2.0...

Only issue now for me is changing the tap to unlock to a custom slider, otherwise it's great
