  • AndroidLock: Lock/Unlock your iPhone, Android Style

An Android phone features a unique lockscreen, where you have to connect various dots to unlock your phone rather than enter in a passcode or slide to unlock. There are 9 dots in total, and gives a little extra security just incase your friend happens to look over while you punch in your numbered code.

Just released to Rock and Cydia, comes AndroidLock, available now for free. This iPhone and iPod tweak will transform your iPhone lockscreen into an Android styled lockscreen where you connect dots in the same manner to unlock your phone. Simply draw the pattern to unlock.

After installing it, go to Settings > AndroidLock, to set the pattern. Requires 4 or more dots to be used.
On a side note, there were many discussions about the androids security flaws in their lockscreen method being hackable by a certain combination, however, my guess is there will be some sort of issue here, some way to get around it. We'll soon find out.

After disabling be sure to restart your iphone. Was playing and did some crazy design now I can't reinstall it cause it remembers the last goofy thing you chose.

Well I have no idea what happened now. I had the prob activating it with quick widgets. I went and SSH in and deleted the quick widget folder after copying. Now the bad parts...For some reason after I get past android lock, my stock pass lock that was still on doesn't work! WTF. Do you guys think this app could mess with the stock passlock at all?

Nope. It overlays LockInfo rendering it useless.

It's useful, in my mind, to piss of my android friends that thought only their phone could have such a feature. mwhahaha suckers.

Yea the app is flawed, when you press on the sleep button it shows the pattern already, which covers up intelliscreen and everything, they way we want it to work is the same way the passcode works, we want to slide the slider first then do the pattern, I dont like how the pattern already shows right after pressing the sleep button, If they make it so that when you slide it and then it shows the pattern, then I would even pay for app, as of now I will be uninstalling the app

That is exactly the reason I did it. Have 4 DroidMonkey friends at work and was going to do it as a joke.. Joke was on me and my Quick Widgets lol.

Awesome app, tried it out, and i've always been hoping for something like this. Uninstalled since it gets in the way of my Lockinfo and background. Will reinstall once it's activated by sliding. Then it'll be the secks!

love this app but there are still so many flaws.

      1. doesn't play well it lockinfo. i agree that there needs to be a slide function or eles lock info is useless

      2. since you needs to disable the native lock anyone with jailbreak knowledge can unlock you phone and get into it. apps like bitesms will allow you to bypass the android lock and so will calls

also there is a way to disable it with out uninstalling it just go into sbsettings and go into mobile substrate addons and disable there

haha all these comments can be summed up in one quick comment

"Crap something on my lock screen made it so i can't do the pass-code that i forgot, and uninstalling then reinstalling doesn't fix it.. i'll just wait for an update that allows it to be a show up after slide feature like the pass-code. then i would even pay for it. Also it should have an on/off switch."

but i agree i want a passcode feature, and an sbsettings toggle then it's bomb and theme-able

i know how to disable it so that i can use my phone now, but has anybody found away to change the code, or delete all the files so that it would start over fresh when i reinstalled it?
