  • AndroidLock: Lock/Unlock your iPhone, Android Style

An Android phone features a unique lockscreen, where you have to connect various dots to unlock your phone rather than enter in a passcode or slide to unlock. There are 9 dots in total, and gives a little extra security just incase your friend happens to look over while you punch in your numbered code.

Just released to Rock and Cydia, comes AndroidLock, available now for free. This iPhone and iPod tweak will transform your iPhone lockscreen into an Android styled lockscreen where you connect dots in the same manner to unlock your phone. Simply draw the pattern to unlock.

After installing it, go to Settings > AndroidLock, to set the pattern. Requires 4 or more dots to be used.
On a side note, there were many discussions about the androids security flaws in their lockscreen method being hackable by a certain combination, however, my guess is there will be some sort of issue here, some way to get around it. We'll soon find out.

its not secure.thats my point. slide and four digits is not slower than having to connect the dots. if you could tap a random order of dots it would not only be quicker but more secure. think about it. you draw an [x] or an [e] or whatever, it shows the pattern on the screen let alone take ages to draw. tap a few random ordered dots and bam. your in.

As previously stated, a transparent mode would be nice. Has anyone been able to find out where the file's located so that I can change the size/transparency of the dots? I can't find it through SSH.

If you are one of many that lost their combo to get in ssh to
download the plist that looks like
and look at your combo.....the numbers represent the buttons starting with one in the upper left, and going horizontal to 3, then goes to the second row and starts with 4 and goes to 6 . Then starts with 7 and ends with 9 on the last row....... you can see what your old combo was and put it in to unlock your phone or edit the plist, if you understand what I was saying about the numbers, to an easier combo

      Still workin on transparent back.....

The path is shown in Cydia:

And within those are various files. But I have not been able to find where the background, dot images, ect... are located...

yea...just tryed that and your path doesn't work after dynamiclibraries.........but in dynamic libraries i found a dylib and a plist...but neither are as easy to see your combo as what i said above^^^

Well I was able to get into the path where (it seems all of) the files are located for AndroidLock (thanks Koinonia) but there doesn't seem to be any images other than the icon.png. Right now I'm not coming up with any ideas where the files are located to change the look of the lock screen.

been wanted this since i saw it on my roomates nexus one, great addon. it has its flaws but most things do most likely will be fixed with time
its funny how people continually ask the same questions through this thread that have been previously answered though, they can wait for responses but cant take two minutes to search through and see if an answer has already been posted

Hey guys, if you need to get around the gesture based lockscreen, you can use the security flaw mentioned here:
It works with the iPhone too. Just press the home button while in a call. This just saved me several hours of heartache and frustration from restoring everything.
