  • AndroidLock: Lock/Unlock your iPhone, Android Style

An Android phone features a unique lockscreen, where you have to connect various dots to unlock your phone rather than enter in a passcode or slide to unlock. There are 9 dots in total, and gives a little extra security just incase your friend happens to look over while you punch in your numbered code.

Just released to Rock and Cydia, comes AndroidLock, available now for free. This iPhone and iPod tweak will transform your iPhone lockscreen into an Android styled lockscreen where you connect dots in the same manner to unlock your phone. Simply draw the pattern to unlock.

After installing it, go to Settings > AndroidLock, to set the pattern. Requires 4 or more dots to be used.
On a side note, there were many discussions about the androids security flaws in their lockscreen method being hackable by a certain combination, however, my guess is there will be some sort of issue here, some way to get around it. We'll soon find out.

      Hi.

Good tweak, but need some update :

      - Can be themed by WinterBoard or Via Settings > AndroidLock
      - Appear only after the slide ton unlock, because it cover Smartscreen, Lockcalendar, Music Controls, Intelliscreen.. and others.
      - The Dots Pannel could be transparant or less dark.
      - The pannel could be smaller, (half-screen max)

After this, it's will be perfect and i'm okay to paid for this on cydia.

Looks ok but nothing new. I'll leave that feature for Android devices not my iPhone.

this is pretty neat. one thing though, if you have LockCalendar and AndroidLock-- you will find yourself in a pickle. LockCalendar takes control, so when i try to swipe my pattern, it will not read it. i was stuck for about 10 minutes. i had to hook up into itunes and cancel the sync (thats when LockCalendar isnt showing). i turned off LockCalendar to use this. pretty nifty!

      Needs a few things though:

-Needs to work like the passcode screen. After you slide to unlock it should slide up, then when you're done swiping your code, it should slide back down.

-It is easy to get around when you have BiteSMS installed. (just press the volume rocker up, tap for quick compose, then press open. That unlocks the phone and brings you to the SMS app).

      -On/off option

-Different skins would be cool as well.

i agree. but cool either way.

I completely dig this. I haven't used a lockinfo screen in some time since I just use Elert to check emails and this seems to not get in the way.

It could use some type of way to theme the background, but I won't complain too much about that. So far I really like it. I'd definitely pay for this if we see updates or modifications.

I disagree with all the people that want this to pop up AFTER the "slide to unlock". For those of us who don't use lockinfo (or whatever app) this is app doubles as a pass code and a slide to unlock all in one. The reason I just disabled by pass code was the fact that it took too damn long to get into my phone with 5 keystrokes. I think this is a very creative app and amazing for a first release given the price of FREE

Is there a file I can delete to completely reset the pattern?

What do you mean by reset the pattern? Just install go in and set a new one. If you can't remember what the pattern was there's a phone call hack that will get you into the device that's posted several times in this thread.

In settings, when I scroll down and click AndroidLock, nothing shows up but just the heading. No dots, nothing...just a blank screen

How to reset the previous forgotten pattern?

I emailed the developer and received the following reply.

      Hi,
log in via ssh to your iPhone and type:

      rm /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.zmaster.AndroidLock.plist
      killall SpringBoard

      - Zmaster

What I did was using Dikaid I went to the same folder but deleted the com.zmaster.AndroidLock.plist file, reinstalled Androidlock and I was able to enter a new pattern. I did have it go into safemode twice after wards but it's fine now.

its too bad you have to draw it out. anybody watching you could easily see the pattern. if you could just type the pathway it leaves more to the imagination

I've been waiting for this for a long time... Has anyone figured where/how to SSH to customize the screen, make it transparent for example???
