Whether texting, sending an email, updating Facebook, or anything that requires you to type, you're bound to make a few typing mistakes here and there. Or run into a situation where you need to delete a few words in the field where you typed. On stock iOS, this can be somewhat annoying because it only allows you to delete one letter at a time. Even holding the Delete button can be slow even though the pace of deletion is picked up a little.
Any window of opportunity for an improvement is seemingly always swept up by the jailbreak community. Delete Word, by iSam makes an excellent alternative for this issue.
With Delete Word installed, simply hold the Shift key and tap the Delete button to delete whole words at a time - one by one. What's really convenient is that with Delete Word installed, it doesn't inhibit the native delete function: as long as you don't hold the Shift key, you can delete one letter at a time like normal. There are no settings to configure with Delete Word so as soon as you install, it's ready to rock.
Delete Word is available on Cydia now for free and is on the BigBoss repo. It is compatible on all devices and firmwares (does not include iOS 5 beta).
