  • iTunes 10 Now Available For Download : Jailbreak Safe

Apple has released iTunes 10 as promised, and is now available for download to the public for Mac and Windows.

iTunes 10 includes Ping, a brand new "social music discovery tool" creates a new experience for iTunes where users can follow their friends and share their favorite music.

It appears that iTunes 10 is Jailbreak safe for now, that is to say that a new Jailbreak tool might not work with iTunes 10, but seeing as there are none out right now that require iTunes, your JailbreakMe.com exploit should be just fine. Musclenerd also informed us that we should be safe as far as DFU Mode, syncing, and custom IPSW's go, just stay away from iOS 4.1 next week.

If you experience anything out of the norm, let us know.

...I want to go back for the time being. I'm getting the apps tab crash. After this I'll learn to always keep the previous version handy...

Nevermind, found the answer a few posts up...

What repo might I find the Infinifolders SBSettings toggle in? It doesn't seem to show in my Cydia...

      Thanks!

Not sure if this is because of the iTunes 10 update but for some reason my iPhone 4 on 4.0 has been having odd network issues since yesterday. I have the bumper on it and it has full bars but will not dial out or receive calls/texts. Anything would be helpful, thanks.

When done, go back and turn ON infinifolders, and it returns your apps back to the folders. problem fixed.
By George, I think he's got it!!! Good get. Works like a charm.

4.1 isn't out until next week. If you restore now you'll get 4.0.2. A jailbreak hasn't been written for 4.1 yet so if you restore there is always a chance you may not be able to jailbreak again. Depending on what model you have you may or may not be able to update to 4.1. You can check compatibility here. http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/software-update/

An update never puts your device into an infinite loop, it wipes the drive and installs a clean, new firmware.

No problems to restore. Jailbreak will be gone but the firmware is fine. What gen touch are you using?

Just so everyone knows an update to Icon Support was issue from Rock App tonight that address the iTunes 10 Apps tab crash issue. It no longer crashes with this update. Works with syncing from WiFi Sync and syncing from the iPhone cable.

There was an update of libhide and other files in cydia, and the crashes have stopped.

Re Wi-Fi Sync reported as not working on iTunes 10 (nickhenson). I have just installed IT10 and it reported a problem with Wi-Fi Sync. However, after removing the programme from my PC and reinstalling, it now works. I did notice on the first occasion I tried it the iPhone didn't show up on the side bar but was accessible from the top menu bar! I have tried it a number of times since and it now shows up where it should and it syncs without problem

YMMV but I experienced a lost day trying to put Whited00r 3.2 on my 2nd gen iphone with itunes 10 on Windows 7 x64. I got a series of error 1600 or 1604s. Fixed it finally through a mac. Beware, there is something up with itunes 10 and custom roms...

The mobile substrate trick works perfectly with Infinifolders/Infinidock. Thanks!

Edit- and after reading further forward in the thread, you don't even need to do that anymore. All is well with the world.
