  • iTunes 10 Now Available For Download : Jailbreak Safe

Apple has released iTunes 10 as promised, and is now available for download to the public for Mac and Windows.

iTunes 10 includes Ping, a brand new "social music discovery tool" creates a new experience for iTunes where users can follow their friends and share their favorite music.

It appears that iTunes 10 is Jailbreak safe for now, that is to say that a new Jailbreak tool might not work with iTunes 10, but seeing as there are none out right now that require iTunes, your JailbreakMe.com exploit should be just fine. Musclenerd also informed us that we should be safe as far as DFU Mode, syncing, and custom IPSW's go, just stay away from iOS 4.1 next week.

If you experience anything out of the norm, let us know.

    Download iTunes 10 Now.

Note : Wi-Fi Sync No Longer Works with iTunes 10

You got to use redsnow_win_0.9.5b5-3 to jailbreak 4.0.2 on your 3G by selecting iOS 4.0 when jailbreaking

^ that and you may also want to try iTunes 9.2 (if you run into problems using 10) with the redsnow...

I've downgraded to iTunes 9.2.1, but it won't let me open it because the library is saved in an older iTunes format. But I am still encountering the same problem as before, I click browse and select the firmware 4.0, but after it verifies the file it says it is invalid. I will try it on a different computer, and hopefully it will verify it.

Use iTunes 9.2. Not 9.2.1 or any other version. Even if the library is saved in an older version, I vaguely remember copying a library over and pasting into the correct location and iTunes didn't have any issues with that. Failing that, follow @notcom's instructions on downgrading using tinyumbrella.

Problems when downgrading iTunes when u try opening it just go to start then music u will see a iTunes folder open it delete everything in the folder now when you click on iTunes it will open

U got to save your shsh in cydia database if u wanna downgrade. U could do this on your device in cydia by clicking "make life easy" or using tinyumbrella. Once this is done u gotta edit your host file to trick iTunes make it feel it's accessing apple server when it really going to cydia database where u have your shsh saved now u would get 3194 or 1604 errors

I don't think it's that safe yesterday I had an issue when I was downgrading from 4.01 back to 3.13 and iTunes would not recognize my phone yes I have blobs saved getting error codes29 etc...I am running windows 7 64 thought that was the issue so I changed pc's and it also had iTunes 10 same issues now my 32 bit windows7 is the one I use to jb all mine and freinds phones .... I know windows 7 has a lib issue but 32 doesn't either way I downgrade to 9.2 bam downgraded with no issues so in short I don't suggest using it just my opinion
