  • Hacker Group Targets Apple

Recent hacking advancements by groups such as Lulz Security (LulzSec) and Anonymous have caused a lot of stir in the news around the world. Companies such as MasterCard, Sony, and others have been primary targets for the AntiSec campaign that is on the loose and the damage that has come about is drastic. Personal information is at stake along with other important documents that house plans for major company's strategies and "next moves." The Wall Street Journal reports that the hacker's latest target was Apple Inc.

According to the source, the hackers got a hold of usernames and passwords directly off the Apple server due to a security flaw. The document that was released contained over 26 administrative username and password combinations. Although small in comparison to previous attacks, the hackers have stated that "they are busy elsewhere." The question is, who is the next target? Government agencies, corporations, and even private companies have been targets for this group so one can never know where they will strike next. In response to the hacking of Apple, no respective spokesperson made any comment about the situation.

what's with these hackers lately. The government is probably going to do something drastic soon and in the process ruin it for everybody else.

That's an interesting thought. What if the government is doing it? Perhaps in an attempt to humiliate companies into being more aware of security - as kind of a way to prevent an economic collapse in the event of a network attack by China or Russia.

Hey, there ARE conspiracies in the world - they're just hard to expose.

Okay, well when you get hit with a 15,K Tab on ur credit card, don't come crying to us to post that your info was jacked and used against you. This could be detrimental to our society. Getting the info is one thing. Using it is painful and drawn-out to resolve.

And you think this is just the beginning? This is a total tease. They're playing with these company's minds, getting to spend tons and tons of money to rebuild their entire system basically.

Also, if it was that easy, wouldn't someone have done it already?

ya ive followed both lulzsec and annonymous for a minute on twitter and they haven t really released anything, for lack of a better term, that "important" now i dont agree w/releasing addresses of police officers, whether or not i generally like them. I can see the potential, and very real danger, of putting those dox online, there are some extremely sick ppl out there and im sure some of those cops have family's.

Apparently you guys and gals haven't been paying attention. With today's trends it's now the popular thing to be hacked. First Mastercard and Paypal, then Sony, the CIA, and now Apple. It's all just one big popularity contest to make yourself as appealing as possible to be hacked. Now Apple can celebrate and relish the fact that they are thought of as totally hackworthy.
