No need to be pissed. Im not even pissed yet.
I did installed that push fix thing and I did get my youtube and wifi to work but is only temporary for wifi. If you went to starbucks for wifi for example, the wifi does not work. It doesnt give options till I reset my network settings. That happened to me

Hopefully this helps some:

Prior to using the Blackra1n I was running my 3GS with the older iboot and on 3.0 firmware. I am on an AT&T legit iPhone plan.

1. I opened up iTunes and updated (not restored) my phone to the new 3.1.2 firmware.

2. Once that was done, I then closed iTunes and ran the Blackra1n program, electing to install both the Cydia and Snow applications.

3. Everything went well, rebooted phone and lost wifi. Got aggravated because resetting the network settings did nothing.

4. Opened up iTunes again, this time using the restore button; restore went great to 3.1.2.

5. I then ran the Blackra1n app BUT before installing using the Blackra1n.exe that was provided on my iPhone springboard; I REBOOTED my iPhone.

6. I then rather than using the snow provided on the Blackra1n app...I installed only Cydia from Blackra1n and did another REBOOT. NOTE: Cydia icon did not appear, had to REBOOT.

7. After REBOOT, my Cydia app appeared; so I then opened up Cydia, did all the upgrades for cydia itself...then REBOOTED again.

8. I THEN went to Cydia and added the blackra1n.com repo and searched for Snow and installed it through Cydia. Did another REBOOT and WAMMO...Wifi ok, phone unlocked and jailbroken.

Its been over 24 hours since my operation was completed and all is still well.


Hope this might answer some questions for at least the AT&T iPhone users who have an iPhone plan.

Maybe I will try your method Chris because I didnt upgrade my itunes. I still have the old version. Maybe I upgrade my itunes and restore my iphone and see if there any good changes

Jailbreak off a fresh 3.1.2 through blackra1n but have no more WiFi which means I can't connect through the Blackra1n app to download Blacksn0w..... HELP!!!!!!

Ok sooooo.....

Back before blacksnow I jailbroke my 16gb iPhone 3gs on blackrain using my windows vista comp.

Now. My AT&T service has been cut off and I am thinking about getting a cheaper service like t-mobile and unlocking wiu blacksnow. I don't know word one about how I would get the necessary data plan to be compatible with the iPhone but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

For now, I want to unlock my 3gs pending I decide to get a new, non AT&T, carrier. Any suggestions? Is this a bad idea?
I'm a noob.

Also someone told me they downloaded blacksnow and their phone went into an endless reboot loop and had to restore.

DO NOT USE THE BenM CARRIER PROFILE. it will break your visual voicemail.

I tried all this and it said I installed the profile but it wasnt signed for the tethering and in setting general network the tethering option was not there im legit atnt 3.1.2 I cant get the tethering hack if anyone knows please help thanks

The reason you can't is because 3.12 requires signed ipcc files.
BlackRa1n removes the need for ipcc files to be signed.
Your options are to either obtain a signed ipcc file that allows tethering for your carrier or to use BlackRa1n.

or do it manually with the commcenter patch...

Or, as angie said, use the commcenter patch - but that's far tooooooooo much like hard work for me

This was strange, but I was trying a new 3gs 32GB brought from HK and I was surprised that I have to jailbreak it each time I reboot it..it's like the new iPod touch!!...Jailbreaking by tethering!
Strangely my friends same 3GS did the same. BTW using Blackra1n RC3
Does anyone have a solution?
