Alas, there was no big news on the next-generation iPhone front today at the start of this year's WWDC, but one would be hard-pressed to find an Apple fan that wasn't impressed to some degree by the full slate of new offerings. Of course, if you're still looking for some iPhone news, the folks at Walmart have a deal for you - assuming you're not already an iPhone 4 owner.
The juggernaut retailer has announced a pretty nifty little deal on the 16 GB iPhone 4. Throughout the month of June Walmart is selling the 16GB iPhone 4 for $147. If you do the math, that's a whole $52 off the established current-generation iPhone price of $199. The does, however, include a new two-year contract.
Walmart says the deal is for both the black and white iPhone 4s, as well as those for either AT&T or Verizon.
Ironically, Walmart announced this most curious deal just before WWDC kicked-off in San Francisco. Understandably, this unexpected deal on the current generation iPhone raised eyebrows, as many began speculating that this deal may be indicative of a new iPhone being unveiled at WWDC today. Of course, we now know this isn't the case.
Still, if you're in the market for an iPhone 4, there's a pretty good price break available at Walmart through June 30th.
