  • MobileNotifier Adds MobileReply

Despite Peter Hajas's announcement about taking a break from MobileNotifier, it has not stopped him and his graphic designer, Kyle Adams, from releasing their promised quick reply capability deemed MobileReply. In an exclusive interview with ModMyi, Peter talked about and demoed some of MobileNotifier beta4 and mentioned that a quick reply capability was in the works. It was unknown when it would be released at the time but Peter and Kyle have been working tirelessly to get this implementation out and available to users.

MobileReply is completely internal and runs directly with the native SMS client. The interface is clean, solid, and flows well with the iOS SpringBoard. It is without a doubt that this implementation has gone through a ton of testing and polishing until it worked to absolute perfection.

The MobileNotifier beta5 release, named Ecstatic Eggo, also includes a brand new dashboard, full text view, and improved speed all around. On top of this, the alert notifications are re-designed and simplified and now you're able to recall the last notification via an Activator command. Lockscreen bugfixes are included also. As a package, this release is revolutionary and a great addition to MobileNotifier's already stable platform. This is the greatest release since the inception of the project and is a "last hurrah before his absence" Hajas says. Beta5 is not only a cutting edge release but is a firm reminder that Hajas has not left for good and shall be returning in the near future.

Peter released a video demo of the new features in beta5 Ecstatic Eggo:

MobileNotifier is free, open-source, and available on the following repo:

Also, if your using an app that requires the phone to be horizontal mobile notifier will pop up on the top of the screen as if you were holding it vertical..but the keyboard will come up horizontal... will post a pic soon

Love it...So far one of the best quick reply's out there. Few things I would like to see though would be option of sending a quick reply from the lock screen and also when I get multiple texts in a row it only shows the latest one and I have to completely go into the text app in order to see the rest. Also agree with others about the regular text notifier popping up.

      Overall though excellent app!!!!!

Yeah very unfortunate that it isnt compatible with bitesms. If mobilenotifier incorporated quickreply with other apps such as beejiveim thatd be awesome.

This is handy, but there is a couple problems I am experiencing. When I am using an app in landscape mode, the keyboard also goes to landscape and cuts 1/2 of the mobile reply window off and thats pretty annoying. Another thing is that it changes my ringtone. It uses the default tritone alert for text messages and now it makes every push notification the same sound. I use an app called Sportacular and when it gives me score updates on the games i monitor its no longer its own custom sound, its the tritone default and it really ticks me off. is there anyway to fix the problems i listed?

      Also what is Auto-Later reply?
