  • AndroidLoader - Application Launcher (SpringBoard)

Surenix (@iSurenix), a prominent jailbreak developer and theme creator, is scheduled to release his newest creation AndroidLoader soon (has been submitted to Cydia). AndroidLoader is an amazing SpringBoard addition that allows quick launch of your applications from anywhere on your SpringBoard. Inspired by the Android layout, tapping the tab below your dock brings up a menu with all your icons listed. When you tap any of the respective applications, it opens it right away. iPod Controls (Skip Back, Play, Skip Forward) are also included within the AndroidLoader menu. There are a few settings for AndroidLoader located in the Settings.app. The follow settings are all On/Off toggles:

    • Hidden Icons
    • Alphabetical Sorting
    • Close on Launch
    • Paging
    • App Labels (Slow)

And then at the bottom of the AndroidLoader settings tab, you can respring to make those changes happen.

Here are some of the features that are expected to come soon with AndroidLoader:

    • Improved tab
    • Launch applications from anywhere (including inside applications)
    • Activator command(s)
    • Much more...

While talking with Surenix on IRC, he made this statement to me that I'm sure he'll keep:

The goal of AndroidLoader is to make a better alternative for the SpringBoard and current multitasking bar. Hopefully with new developments underway, it may even replace many of the SBSettings toggles.
As mentioned above, new features are always underway so keep posted on what is to come.

It has been submitted to Cydia and should be up soon. When it releases, it will be $2.99.

    Name: AndroidLoader
    Author: Surenix
    Price: $2.99

Below is a video demo of AndroidLoader:

meh come on guys, don't hate. a lot of people jailbreak for the reason for customizing their idevice. and if they want to kind of mix up ios and android (even though they COULD be doing stuff like unlocking the newer basebands, but i'm not complaining because i enjoy modding the look of my ipod just as much ) then so be it. i don't see anything wrong. at least the did SOMETHING

You are joking right? an App/Tweak dev does not mean they have the skills to reverse engineer a baseband and search for exploits. If you want an unlock, buy a factory unlock or get on an official carrier and quit ********.

      Chill.

This is a great looking tweak. If you don't want it don't buy it but dont hate on the dev if you don't like the tweak. Can't wait to buy

What everyone must remember is that potential is there. Regardless of your standings, AndroidLoader has a lot of things upcoming and I think it has a shot at being very successful. This is not the end product. Keep that in mind.

Yeah, this is pretty cool tweak, and i was so excited in getting it, (-) all the glitches. For one after i installed this i could'nt access two of the centered apps in my dock, (ig. Mail app in the screenshot above)

+ i know not too many people use spotlight search, but this takes over the space button on the spotlight keyboard, and it just gets in the way of everything.

plus other glitches. Hopefully there is an update soon so it'll be worth my $2.99

Yes please update, not all the features offered with this tweak work. I would love to use it but all the apps are just randomly placed, I can't get the alphabetical order to work. Is there a eta of when this tweak will be updated?
