  • New Apple headphones to ship with the iPhone
Checking out the new iPhone Gallery, I noticed the new headphones they will be shipping with the iPhone. Very cool. They look similar to the iPod headphones we're all familiar with, with the addition of the mic inline. Very slim, very minimal mic, none of this large bulb of a mic like most in-wire headsets have now. Leave it to Apple to sexify even something as miniscule as the wired headset...

Well it has to be large enough to click so you can answer the phone when you get a call. I'm sure if they showed the other side of the pod, you would see a small button to press.

Unfortunately they will probably sound like the new buds... which I think are a step backwards from the original iPod earbuds (with the old shape). I've tried them back to back and even though the new buds have a little better treble response, its actually more enhanced sounding whereas the originals have a more balanced natural sound IMO.

Guess I'll keep my E3c's, then, editwizard.

Although they suck for listening during exercise like running. Good for on stage or at home... maybe its just the buds I'm using.

      Yep, E3c's are great on-stage.

      No, they are monitor earphones.

I actually have Etymotic ER6s with custom earmolds, and a set of ER9s.

I'd kill for Etymotic to either make a Bluetooth headset or a headset with headphones with a similar aperture size as the ER stuff. The Etycom has a much smaller size and they don't make adapters.

If you have small ear canals like me, the custom molds are definitely worth it. I can't wear ER series, or the Shure stuff for more than a couple of minutes due to discomfort. I can wear my molds all day.

That's why I have my originals tucked away for when I game. Took them from the kids (the 2 oldest have Nanos) and gave them lesser buds. Such a bad father...

But I am still a fullbody ear phones man - never like buds.

Yah those new Bose are pretty good for full ear music listening.

pf have you tried out the E4c's yet?

Nope, sure haven't. I need to change my buds, the little pieces that go in my ear... they make it sound weird. Hows the bass response on the E4c's? My E3c's are WAY clearer than the E2's I was using before, but I have less bass response...
