  • Free Unlock running 1.1.1 with a 1.0.2 baseband
you saw it on mmi first. Free unlock for 1.1.1

Using bits and pieces of some guides here on mmi JedixJarf has confirmed free unlocking running 1.1.1

First you need to virginize your iphone.

    OSX
    Windows

next you need to get 1.1.1 jailbroken and running ssh and bsd installed and your phone activated on 1.1.1

    OSX
    Windows

Then just downgrade the baseband only, then unlock

    OSX Step 10 through 17
    Windows

You may not want to try this until the method has been perfected. If you don't know what you're doing don't Try this. It works, but if you mess up at all you will corrupt the baseband beyond repair. If you are patient you can wait until The Dev Team updates anysim to work on the 1.1.1 or another 1.1.1 app is created

Let me get this straight. It looks like step 1-8 are the "downgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.0.2". Is that correct? If I have installed any 3rd party Apps like "Stumbler" shoud I delete them or is it ok to go on to step 9? Should I err on the side of caution and just start at step one by upgrading my firmware to 1.1.1?

I have a new iPhone that arrived with 1.1.1 that I downgraded last week using steps 1-8.

      Thanks
      Hey taylorcold

Honestly I would just start fresh, just format it so you have 1.0.2 if you have done this already then proceed to the next steps. I'm always how do you say, paranoid when it comes to things like this specially how new this mod is. It really isn't that hard, (In-terms of OSX I haven't looked at the Win version, I try to stay way from those You just got to use your logic. If there's something that you don't get, feel free to ask.

      Hello Howai

You need to read the free unlocking running 1.1.1

Yea its 1.1.1 to 1.0.2 as a drag-queen, not quite a woman yet. But hey is strong enough for man but built for a woman, or is it the other way? I guess.

The worst of it is, that its like the 2nd last part and all the other parts were easy enough.

When going back to 1.0.2, i had problems with independence, until I realized I unziped the recovery folder by double clicking after renaming to a .zip file, instead of using stuffit expander.

unzip with expander made independence work the first try. wierd.

Well, I got too excited -- I had an iunlocked 1.0.2 phone, and read the "virginize" in the original article as being able to virginze the baseband.. *sigh*

fwiw, the ierase fails (I*assume*) when I try it:
      # ieraser
      Baseband reset.
      Get FlashID Request
      Sending:
      00000000 | 02 00 01 08 00 00 00 00 01 08 03 00 | ........ ....

      iEraser: tool by geohot
      <--snip snip-->
      Waiting for data...
      Got Header: 77 0b cc

Hopefully the main flash was erased, wait for the next step...
(the version check before I started had these values as well)
      # bbupdater -v
      Resetting target...
      pinging the baseband...
      issuing +xgendata...
      firmware: DEV_ICE_MODEM_04.01.13_G
      eep version: EEP_VERSION:207
      eep revision: EEP_REVISION:7
      bootloader: BOOTLOADER_VERSION:3.9_M3S2
      Done

The bbupdate ends after attempting the fls download:

      ProgressUpdated: 100
      ProcessDetailUpdated: Sending end-pack.
ProcessOutlineUpdated: Process time was 2 min 2 sec.
Error: Failed to download .FLS: Could not verify downloaded image.
      Done

I have apptap back and wireless is working. General About does not show any IMEI, and no carrier is identified for the phone.

Guess I'll wait for he broadband virginizer (and probably have to go buy another phone in the mean time :P)

you are using this pack right

      http://www.modmyi.com/forums/downloa...o=file&id=1085

the one p_f linked to in the first post was crap . . . secpack was not correct, I pulled out secpack from the 1.1.1 f/w and it is included inthe archive I just linked.

oh and the link in the first post to the bad archive has been replaced
