  • 1.1.1 Released

Firmware 1.1.1 was released today. Features include:

    iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store
    Louder speakerphone and receiver volume
Home Button double-click shortcut to phone favorites or music controls
Space bar double-tap shortcut to intelligently insert period and space
Mail attachments are viewable in portrait and landscape
Stocks and cities in Stocks and Weather can be re-ordered
Apple Bluetooth Headset battery status in the Status Bar
    Support for TV Out
Preference to turn off EDGE/GPRS when roaming internationally
    New Passcode lock time intervals
    Adjustable alert volume

If you are the owner of an unlocked iPhone, DO NOT UPDATE until we have a viable solution for either relocking and then unlocking after the update, or doing the update without bricking your iPhone. Updating an unlocked iPhone currently WILL BRICK your iPhone.

    The Basics:
    • If you have an unlocked phone, but are using AT&T, updating will NOT brick your iPhone, but you will have to get a new SIM card, as the iPhone will display an incorrect SIM message.
    • If you have an unlocked iPhone, and are running a carrier OTHER than AT&T, updating will NOT brick your iPhone, but it WILL relock your iPhone, and no existing methods will unlock again, so DON'T UPDATE YET.
    • If you have an iPhone LOCKED TO AT&T still, updating your iPhone will work fine. If you have installed 3rd party apps, they will be gone, and no existing methods will reinstall them.
    • No, the developers of the software modding apps have NOT updated their apps within the past 2 hours. When they do you will be notified with a new News story.

no, the modem firmware is still unlocked so it still wont work properly

      Hi,
If you still running 1.0.2, Just wait until they release the 1.1.1 firmware unlocks.

Even if you update to 1.1.1 it does not Delete anything off your iphone. Your 3rd Party Apps are stored in the memory (but cannot be accessed)

So, when they come out with the new Jailbreak. You will have your old Apps and themes waiting for you!

Just give it a days, everything will be OK!

      AppTapp will not work.
When you run AppTapp, it'll try and Jailbreak a firmware version 1.0.2. When it finds 1.1.1 its going to just freeze up on you and do nothing.

Best if you Avoid any 1.0.2 Firmware jailbreakers like Ibrickr/AppTapp/Independance.

As it may damage the new firmware.

Not sure if it's possible. I doubt any of the new phones being sold currently have 1.1.1 on them, anyway. Either way, downgrading would be pointless. Within a matter of days, or a week or two at most, we'll have new stuff out that will jailbreak/unlock for 1.1.1

My mistake, the ringtones and itunes folders are just a leftover from when I was using ituneswap to sync with 2 computers.

Did you try restarting the phone after you uploaded the ringtones? Sometimes that helps.

Has anyone who modded their 1.0.2 with BSD Subsystem (via installer) upgraded successfully to 1.1.1? I noticed it was the only package that I couldn't uninstall through installer (only option is reinstall) and that made me wonder...
