the new phone will be running on 2.0 fw.. which is already jailbroken.
Doesn't mean any of the applications currently running on the first gens are compatible with the new firmware. I don't expect that to happen for at least a month. I also don't think phone's will be on sale for at least 2 weeks.
There has been no marketing whatsoever. I doubt Apple is satisfied with spreading the iPhone news through word of mouth and MMi.
Only thing I'm interested in is what it looks like. Don't really know why everyone's so hyped up to use a stock iPhone with 3G, but that's just me.
Umm, if i read correctly, in several different articles, the 3g iphone is just being announced today, it wont be available until around june 18th.
On another note, we're not sacrificing our apps for this new iphone, thats what the appstore is for, it may even have better quality apps.
Also, yes its true that the beta 2.0 can be jailbroken, but thats just beta, anything can happen, who knows apple may have done something with the new 3g hardware so it cant be jailbroken, but thats just worst case scenario.
