  • The Next Step in Modding - IPSWTool
With the release of PwnageTool we now have the ability to load unsigned firmware onto the iPhone / iPod Touch allowing for great advances in taking control. This is the next step created by theiphoneproject.

We are happy to announce that IPSWTool is coming to your computer soon. Video below!

IPSWTool is the next step of building custom firmwares with the style and grace of iLiberty+. With IPSWTool you can create custom firmwares packaged will all the goodies already downloaded and inserted into the IPSW. These custom firmwares can be restored onto iPhones and iTouchs that have already been Pwnd. As you can see from the video / screenshots there are already some great application compilations to install with the BigBoss and CrashX AppPacks. Furthermore there are the thing you'd expect: BSD subsystem, SSH, Installer, and of course Cydia.

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZN92GCdb_U"]YouTube - iPlus and iLiberty+ get PWNED[/ame]

Another very cool feature that we hope is implemented in the final release of IPSWTool is the ability to change the OS and Media partition sizes. Why? It would allow you to restore a firmware onto your iPhone / iPod Touch that already has plenty of free space for all the cool Applications that have been developed; getting rid of the need to move your Applications, Ringtones, etc around.

Look forward to this great Application!

Sorry for pulling a winPwn on you guys, it was supposed to be out by now, but after seeing pwnage 1.1 we realized there would be no point in releasing unless we added some fearures.

Some that we have done that pwnagw doesn't includes:
      -Partitioning wizard
-Relocate apps/ringtones/fonts to /private/var on first boot
-Unlock baseband files within the .ipsw so that it does not have to be done on first boot
-Flash img2 files without the need for a restore
      -Use custom baseband
      -Use custom baseband bootloader
-Makes installed payloads show up as installed in Cydia and Installer
-A few more things that are a suprise

when is 1.2 (5A147p) [Build] leaked for a custom firmware that has the itunes store and Appstore!!!. I think people have it already. The 5A225c build takes so long to turn off. The 5A240d build works fine but when I sync my music it says some can't be synced because the software is to old go to summary tab for the latest iphone software update. Where is that how would I disable that. what about the 5A258f build for the iphone.

Any websites I can find the certain builds of the 1.2/2.0 to download.
The 5A240d will be expired May 15, 2008 does it have (PSOD) [Pink screen of death] if I didn't use the custom firmware.
Once it's expired it will have (PSOD) that. Or if it's not expired will it not have (PSOD). Are 2.0 out dated

it will be great if someone can help me

      yooo

AFAIK, there isn't a newer firmware than 5A240d. The newest SDK update only updated xCode and the simulator, not the firmware on the iPhone or iPT.

Actually yes, although it is not widely stated, a new firmware comes with every new SDK update
