  • ITS BEEN PWNED!!!!! | Release of PwnageTool OSX + Windows
    We have been talking about PwnageTool for what seems like ages now. It is finally here! The Dev Team has done an amazing job and released this tool allowing a safer jailbreak for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. We recommend you switch to this method for freeing your Device.

    Full OSX Usage Guide with Instructions for 2.0 Beta

    OSX Download from ModMyI | Official download from theiphoneproject.org
    Windows Coming Soon . . .

    Why choose PwnageTool? Unlike other previous jailbreak methods that exploit the iPhone, PwnageTool modifies the iPhone to accept unsigned .ipsw files allowing for a safer Jailbreak using the tried and true iTunes restore. The OSX Version of PwnageTool Not only will pwn your phone but also allows for the creation of custom .ipsw files to load via iTunes.

    OSX Version Features:
    • iPwner - Pwns your iPhone, the safer jailbreak
    • IPSW Builder - Lets you create custom firmware to load to you pwnd phone including unlocking, neutering, custom pictures, activation, and bootloade upgrade/downgrade.
    • Bootneuter: A neutered bootloader survives iTunes updates, even updates to 1.2.0 (aka 2.0). Unlike unlocking which requires a new patch for each firmware version, you only need to neuter once.

    Windows Version Features:
    • Coming Soon

    Once again awesome job Dev Team

    DO NOT ASK / POST LINKS TO WAREZ. FIRMWARE 1.2 and 2.0 ARE WAREZ. DO NOT POST LINKS TO CUSTOM FIRMWARE IT IS ILLEGAL

      Yes this is how i was determining if it was jailbroken or not. Please forgive my noobness but how exactly do I get installer loaded? I've jailbroken my phone so many different ways I do not remember the method to get that installed (if possible)

      i read this thread and it seems a lot of people are trying to get 2.0 on their phone and there is no reason to unless your a dev and know how to create apps with the sdk...2.0 is mostly out there for testing...you wont be able to get installer on and wont be able to ssh into ur phone either...there arent any apps for you anyway for 2.0 so why bother loading it on to ur phone...ur just wasting ur time unless your a dev with the sdk...do not use 2.0...just use 1.1.4 or below if you wanna have 3rd party apps.

      Hi,

      My question is if i restore the iphone via itunes with the original file, and then restore it with a custum file (the point is restoring several iphones via itunes. Do i have to Pwn them each time each one so it accepts the custum file or i have to only do it once.

      Thanks for your help

      i believe you'd have to pwn every phone but can use the same custom firmware to restore via itunes so you don't have to create a custom one with each phone

      So if I restore my phone againg using itunes will it remove the pwnage did to the phone Yes or no. I have my iphone on a custome 1.1.4 and loaded to my phone with out using the Pwnage again so now my iphone do not have an Att signal would restoring the iphone, using itunes fix this? so then I can Pwnage my iphone reload the custom 1.1.4 ipsw file, and then I can go to 1.2b, Would this Work?

      restoring the phone using a stock firmware will "un-pwn" it and return it to factory settings. now, if you used pwnage to jailbreak but NOT unlock, you may run into the problems of not having service, as mentioned in previous posts. you can run bootneuter (spl?) to unlock your phone for service to work

      I just pwnd my phone but now that it's done I have not gained anything I didn't already have before. I'm not a Dev so I won't be upgrading to 2.0 until June.

      Until the ipsw builder allows for truely CUSTOM firmware such as preloading all your apps in a "moster pack" or allowing users to pick their own boot images... this essentially makes things HARDER b/c now I have to manually load BSD and Cydia...ect.

      Basically what i'm saying is until this tool allows for more customization, there is no reason to go through all this just to end up right back where you were to begin with. Like going from dev team upgrade to ziphone to iplus to iliberty. Different ways of doing the SAME thing.. no better or worse result.

      I agree with Poseidon. Unless you're planning on restoring/rejailbreaking, there's no reason to do this if your phone is working fine

      so all I need to do is to Restore - the phone Pwn it - choose the unlock option, and install, all the bootloaters - install customizied 1.1.4 than install 1.2b. right.

      wasnt there a release several weeks ago that said that the dev team had jailbroken 2.0?

      -i upgraded to 2.0 but there is no appstore or itunes store, is that not possible with the beta?

      well I'm at work right now. When I get back I'll post the error message. I'd also like to let you know that I did not put the bootneuter in the custom firmware because it kept asking to browse for the 3.9 and 4.6 bootloader files. Am I supposed to download those because no one does that in the video or in the guide..

      i believe you have to go into parental control, enter password, and all the options will be turned to on when you initially go in, turn them off and back on and i think the icons should show up. that's what's shown in the dev team video

      yes you are supposed to manually download the bootloader images from a different link. refer to iclarified.com's instructions for the link: http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=893

      i'm asking about the error message in itunes because i've seen a few threads on people getting an error message in itunes, i believe it either started with 16xx or 6xxx. either way, that means itunes doesn't like the usb port you're using and you should switch. i hope that helps

      YOU ARE 100% RIGHT

      i did restored to 2.0 and so not woth it.
      was abble to install:
      installer= keept crashing.
      custumize= keept crashing
      was abble to install ssh but it was to slugish, i installed by changing the sytemversion.plst to 1.1.3 throught ifuntastic the instaled ssh through independence. All of that was so not worth it because so fone is way to slow and you realy cant mod exept with xcode tool.
