We've told you it was coming. Tomorrow is the day. Watch out for the release of pwnage.

    • The software is a self contained application (for MacOS 10.4.x and 10.5.x) that allows all current models of the iPhone device to be “Pwned”. This term (in relation to this software) refers to the patching of the stock bootloader so that it will allow the execution of unsigned code and circumvent code-signing checks. “Pwnage” only needs to be performed once to allow the additional features on the iPhone.
    • The application also processes and modifies existing Apple archives so that unique, custom rolled firmware bundles can be installed onto the “Pwned” iPhone directly from iTunes.
    • These ”.ipsw” files can be created and patched by the application to allow third-party modifications such as activation, application installation, baseband modification, custom phone graphics etc.
    • The tool works automatically on box-fresh (OTB) 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 iPhones and requires minimal interaction from the user.

Is it only me who's seen the problem with changing the Apple logo? It means that Apple will immediatly know to deny service to those with "Pwned" iPhones. Seems a bit dumb to me. The moment you turn it on, they know that you've jailbroken it. I don't think it's all that good an idea...
You could probaly restore with stock firmware, not "pwned" firmware and be good to go with stock boot logo. And if that doesnt work I would say if your worried about voiding your warranty then dont MOD your phone.Me I could care less about apples warranty,I got state farm insurance on my phone.30 bucks a year=complete replacement if something happens to it!!!

Why do we need a windows version if the mac users can build the firmwares and post them so that us windows users can download them and then use it through iTunes?

Because you can't apply them unless your iPhone is pwned, so it doesn't check signatures.

That is so cool, but does anyone know if the the tool has a reversable feature that would "unpwn" the? In case it needs to be sent to apple for repair?

I'm sure the Dev Team has thought about "unpwning" a pwned iPhone. They are pretty smart bunch of people.

If I am correct, the reason this is so phenomenal, is because (in theory) it should work with every firmware that is set to come out in the future, and Apple almost surely cannot patch this. It is also said to be easier to use and allows for more options to be selected when loading the custom firmware. There might be more, but thats all I know of.
