  • ZiPhone 2.5 for 1.1.4 Firmware Has Been Released
Yes Zibri has released ZiPhone 2.5 to the world. This is for full functionality on all firmware versions (iPhone only atm). He also released this to everyone at the same time instead of the initial plan of releasing to donators first. Read on for download links.

ZiPhone 2.5 is now on download site for
    you all to enjoy.
I decided to release it for everyone since MANY
    are helping supporting sponsors.
And it would not have been fair to them.
I suggest you to do a restore to 1.1.4
not an update. Because installer keeps old
installed apps in it's cache and you would have problems.
Hoping people at conceited software resolve that soon.
After restore to 1.1.4, just use "ziphone -Z Y" or the first
    button on GUI versions.

    Have fun !
And thanks to everyone for supporting and caring!

Stay tuned ! More interesting things are coming up on this site!

    Namaste!
    Zibri.

I have a jailbroken 1.1.1. I am ready to upgrade to 1.1.4 via ZIphone. Just a few questions before i jump into it.

      1. Do I up grade to 1.1.4 via itunes then do Ziphone? I read that you need to "restore" (shift click) via itunes.
      2. What's the difference, in my case between upgrading my firmware to 1.1.4 vs restoring it to 1.1.4?
      3. After jailbreaking it with do it all, will I still have install.app?

Just a few clarifications. I am happy with my 1.1.1 but it is always good to have an upgrade done.

      Thanks.

I had upgraded, thru Itunes, to 1.1.4 before I saw Ziphone. I used Zphone and it worked perfectly. I test the Iphone with a cingular SIM - worked OK. Waiting for a Tmobile SIM to try.

Utube did not work initially. I tried various "fixes" but until I stumbled across SpikeyMikey303's fix, nothing worked.

Thanks everybody for your hard work.

Many Thanks Zibri for this great release.

Went from 1.1.1 unlocked/jailbroken ---> 1.1.4 in about 10 minutes. After a little fiddling all apps are re-installed and working fine. My only issue is customize, which I have read will just not work with Ziphone 2.5c. Does anybody know of any solutions to the customize on 2.5c issue?

      Cheers

      Hello ennala

Not sure if you have found your answer however:

With I Tunes open, put your iPhone into restore mode (Hold down both the top power button and bottom home button for a few seconds).
You will see a usb image appear on your phone and iTunes will detect your iphone in restore mode.
You will see your iphone listed within iTunes and you can select Restore. However when selecting restore hold down the left Shift button.
You will be prompted for the location of the iphone restore file that you downloaded, point it to that location and select ok.
Your done. The process will take about 10min

Once it is complete use Ziphone 2.5 to jailbreak/Activate/Unlock

      Hay Tom

      Question 1: YES
Restore to 1.1.4 via iTunes (Left Shift Key while pressing Restore) then perform Ziphone.

      Question 2: Errors
If you upgrade opposed to Restore, you may experiance issues. I know i did.
By Restoring you know you will have a fresh install.
By holding down the left shift key while selecting Restore provides you with a dialog box allowing you to select the location of the firmware to restore from.

      Question 3: YES
Using Ziphone 2.5 (And older Versions), it loads install.app as part of the jailbreaking process.

Thanks a bunch Altra001. It's now clear. Just one more clarification and I think I'm ready. In the restore mode, itunes will allow me to select the location of the firmware to restore from.

I haven't downloaded any firmware so I don't know where to get the firmware from. Will it ask me to choose 1.1.4?

Can you tell me the best way to use this new software ie do i need to keep the original sim card in my iphone when using or non in?? I had my iphone working for a month running 1.1.2 until it came up with "NO SIM" in the top left hand corner so at the moment trying anything to get my iphone back up and running. I have used the previous ziphone software which worked on everything but the sim card problem. In my general folder on the iphone there is a carrier tab anymore??? Any help from anyone would be much appreciated.

Hello, I have two quick questions (this thread is so long, can't go through all of it) I restored my phone from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4 and used ziphone 2.5 just to jailbreak (since i'm activated with AT&T). I did get Installer.app but when i connect my iphone to comp (Windows) and open up iPhoneBrowser, i don't see any jailbroken system files and folders that i used to see in jailbroken 1.1.2 I can' find folder Documents where i put files so i can use SendFile.app
And another issue, when i take a snapshot with Dock, saved screenshot doesn't go to cameraroll as it used to in 1.1.2. It just takes a snapshot and then i can't find that screenshot anywhere.
ANyone knows the problem with it? THanks for help, u can PM me. THanks again. I really miss using SendFile.app

      Hello Tom

You can download 1.1.4 firmware from this site [modmyi] from the downloads/firmware selection.

When you restore your iphone using iTunes while also holding down the left shift key, it asks you for the location of the firmware. The firmware can be any, 1.1.2 / 1.1.3 / 1.1.4
Here you tell iTunes were to go and what to do! LOL

      Hay Met

With iPhoneBrowser you require to download the ziphone iBricker fix in order to see all your files on the iphone.

Add this source to your installer and you will find it:

I Had to clear this up where it started, some people seem to think the Zibri's blog is cool to have, well congrats to you, opinions are like a$. Me personally, didn't need it, so i asked a stupid question and got sarcastic answers. No worries don't really care, the thing that bothers me is all the idiots saying that I disrespected Zibri... I'll say it once and for all, i thank Zibri for his work, but if McDonals is gicing out free burgers and every burger comes with a hat, garunteed im throwing the hat away.... that isnt to say that McDonalds suck and i'm not thankfull, i just have no need for a dumb ***** hat.... get it? got it? Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
uhh in case you werent aware...you simply hold down the icon...and an "X" pops up next to it no need to be so hostile.. you're so "not in need of stupid questions and sarcastic answers" but you dont know a simple iphone function?
