  • Firmware 1.1.4 Released for Iphone / iPod Touch
    It's out.

As always remember if you have a unlocked iPhone don't upgrade until the devs have had some time to look into things. Oh and if you upgrade your jailbreak will probably be gone as well -- as always

For those of you all excited to upgrade please post you experiences

I can confirm the jailbreak working on 1.1.4.

      1. Update to 1.1.4 through iTunes.

      2. Download ZiPhone from here.

      3. Once you're phone/iPod (I have done both!) are updated, open ZiPhone.

      4. Click on the jailbreak button. My phone was already activated and is AT&T. If your's isn't one of those requirements then you have to wait a few days.

      5. Now wait! It takes about 10 seconds to jailbreak it. You see what is happening on the screen so that's pretty cool.

      6. (Optional) There is a file on Installer called "Unlock (1.1.4)" that let's you unlock the phone as long as it's on 3.9 BL.

Another thing. I did this on a Windows.

Something very wrong happened. I accidently upgraded to 1.1.4 on my iPod Touch so I decided to run the ziPhone software to rejailbreak it. In the ziPhone GUI I chose the 3rd option "Jailbreak: ipod Supported".

It started running and the screen on my touch started scrolling through a bunch of text till it finally stopped on this: "BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0". It repeats itself over and over about every 15 seconds. I've tried restarting and it just runs back into the same problem.

Please help, I really hope I haven't done any permanent damage

Is there a new user name and password for 1.14?

      I can't connect.

Or is SSH just not working yet for 1.14

      It works!

Tried with Win XP and a 1.1.2 OOB iPhone.

I restored my iPhone with iTunes to 1.1.4

      then I downloaded this: http://rapidshare.com/files/95650915/ZiPhone-1.1.4.zip

extract the file to your harddrive.

Open the prompt on your computer and change to the above extracted file.

Run it with ziphone -a -j

Then when ziphone finished its work,
      open installer on your iPhone,
      install BSD Subsystem and openSSH,
      finally install Unlock 1.1.4(iClarified source)

make sure your autolock is set to NEVER before doing this.

This works for 3.9BL iPhones only.

The unlock 1.1.4 still remains after restoring again to 1.1.4(I tried this because I wanted to know).

      Nah,

      should work without any problems.

Make sure you have BSD subsystem and openSSH installed, check your iPhones IP and connect via WINScp as usual.

      User: root
      PW: alpine

Keep in mind that the first login takes about 30- 45 secs!

      Hope that helps you.

I always have to first restart the iPhone before SSH works

I upgraded with no problems last night, and then used ziphone to jailbreak it only since i am an AT&T subscriber. After jailbreaking it and going into installer i see all my previously installed apps under uninstall but they do not show up on the springboard. Trying to unistall summerboard i get an error. Phone itself has been working great. No changes that i have noticed.

      Thats a common problem,

try to SSH into your phone and remove the Summerboard.app manually.

Worked for me the first time.

      Let us know!

You should/ can uninstall the patch file after Summerboard is installed and working.

i am running an 8g iphone (originally 1.0.2), win xp (unfortunately)
      i updated to 1.1.4 tonight.
Jailbroken using ziphone v2.4 (which is amazing)
      everything works.

I have been comparing my 1.1.4 jb to my bf's 1.1.3jb, and so far, i have not found really anything different between the two.

I do agree that pages on the safari tab screen stay "active," but i noticed that started working in 1.1.3. However, i am getting up to 8 tabs now. is that new? i'm not sure.

Oh yea, is it just me or can you zoom in on websites more than before?

      edit:
      i read on appleinsider's 1.1.4 forum:

neither of these claims have i found true, nor have i seen any more info about them. Many people said they could not get the newest addition to the "drag/drop" part to work. Any ideas?
If you update to 1.1.4 your iphone not has been locked again?
