  • 1.1.3 Jailbreak Goes Public!
Per NateTrue's blog, the 1.1.3 jailbreak is official! UPDATE: The jailbreak is now for Windows and OS X both. Here's the OS X jailbreak download. (non-member mirror)

You must have a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken iPhone already for this to work (or jailbreak yours).

Here's the brief details, before we get our full guide up:

    - Start with a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 jailbroken phone with Installer.app installed.
    - Plug in your phone via USB to your computer.
    - Download, extract, and run iBrickr Special 1.1.3 jailbreak edition (non-member mirror) (ibrickr.exe in the archive).
    - iBrickr will determine what firmware you are running on your phone and make sure you can run the update.
    - iBrickr will then guide you through the process of obtaining and modifying the 1.1.3 firmware (make sure to read everything thoroughly).
    - iBrickr will upload the new firmware image to your phone. Note that this only puts the file on your phone and does not modify it at all, yet.
    - When iBrickr finishes (should take about 10 minutes), it will tell you to go to Installer and install the "1.1.3 soft upgrade" package. Do that.
    - When the installer finishes (this should take another 10-15 minutes), your phone should reboot with a fresh activated 1.1.3 firmware.
Note: There is a bit of controversy surrounding this release. It seems NateTrue and the iPhone Dev Team have parted ways over this release - they believe the legality is questionable, NateTrue believes it is within rights. MMi remains neutral until more info is released. At the moment, it seems there's a rumble in the Bronx, so to speak.

    Update: from NateTrue:
And zdziarski thinks there's more in the patches than there really is. It's just identifying pieces, so that the patcher software knows where to cut and paste and modify. And some kernel caches. Nothing big.

Everything went well with the upgrade/install/jailbreak. Awesome job by everyone involved. A big THANX to Nate & the Devs. Only thing I would suggest is if you have some apps hidden using customize you should unhide them before upgrading as customize is obselete at the moment on 1.1.3.

Login credentials for SSH are still root/alpine

So im sure files were moved around to create space for all the new apps that they might be releasing?

Just canceled it (it was taking ages to download) after knowing that nate has been kicked out of the dev team. I don't care about it being illegal (I haven't bought a cd in 5 years and I have 3000+ songs.... and I'm in Mexico lol) but if the dev team doesn't support this, and they had help me a lot why would I do this?
I will just keep the method as a backup in case some 1.1.3 cool app comes out before the sdk.

BTW, how can I make ibrikr to use a downloaded firmware instead of download it?

To save the edge settings you need to go to general - reset - reset network settings

reboot the phone and then enter them again.

      Worked for me.

Alright, I need some major help.

My "Preferences.app" is no longer in the Applications folder, it's now in ~/Library, and I can't move it back because I cannot use SSH, and I can't use SSH because I can't get my phone's IP because I cannot use "Preferences.app" so I'm kind of in a paradox atm. Is there anything I can do?

check your router's admin panel ( on most) and see if you can tell which device is the iphone. It will be an osx device - you should be able to get the ip.

      I have a 1.1.2 OTB Iphone

      T-Mobile Service w/Total Internet

Update worked. 3rd Party Apps are gone but may be reinstalled (apparently).
So far all features seem to work. Edge settings are reset to BLANK.

Problem tho: As previously stated - As soon as you try to reenter EDGE Settings and you finish the first line, it returns to the home screen. I have previusly seen an approach to change it in the phone itself (the file). Have no clue how to edit the file tho.

As quoted by rishy in another Thread:

"you can chnage the setting in this file

      modify this section

Not sure if that ill solve the problem. But MAYBE if we can edit the file in the phone this issue is off the table. Any input is highly appreciated.
hi there, when using the stealth sim after upgrade to 1.1.3, is the iphone sill unlocked?

Ok here's a question i think some people would like to hear an answer to, if not already answered.. idk, If you have a 1.1.2 OTB iphone bootloader 4.6, and you downgraded it to 1.1.1 and have it jailbroken but not fully unlocked, and you do this, 1.1.3 Jailbreak, will it work? (not expecting to use Phone/Text, but just jailbreak)

Sorry if its answered in the last 15 pages, but i didn't have the time to read through each one, can i get an answer please?

Edit: My Guess is it's not going to work because when i go to installer>recent packages>1.1.3 soft upgrade>install + Error Your iPhone is not ready to upgrade. See "More Info"

Am I supposed to do something before i install 1.1.3 soft upgrade?
