  • 1.1.3 Jailbreak Achieved - not public yet
    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idxxKVM1Cno"]YouTube - 1.1.3 Jailbreak (with Installer.app launch)[/ame]

The iPhone dev team has achieved 1.1.3 jailbreak on both the iPhone AND the iPod Touch. The jailbreak solution has NOT been released to the public, and according to them will not be until February when the SDK releases, that way Apple doesn't get to see the method, and break it before the SDK releases - jailbreak + SDK = awesome app functionality, for that free price we've all come to love for iPhone applications (but always remember - if you like an app, DONATE TO THE DEV!!!!!).

Once the jailbreak is made public, make sure you toss some fundage over to the dev team for their work. (Their site is down right now or I'd link - will add link when its back up). Rock n' roll, folks, the cat and mouse game continues.

      Its a hardware method.

I read that even this jailbreak method needs hardware modifications. Anyone knows if it is true?
And if yes, do you think there is a possibility for a pure hardware jailbreak soon?
Does the dev team has a website where you can read a bit more info about it? For example if they are the ones who said it needs hardware modification or if that is just a rumor going around.

Well, for each iPhone that Apple sold, and activate with AT&T, they will get $280 a year from AT&T. so if someone buy an iPhone from Apple and activate it with AT&T, they will get $680 the first year ($400 iphone+$280 first year contract) + $280 each year after that.. I not sure if that $280 is due every year for Apple or just a onetime.. Either way, with an iphone that get activated with AT&T, Apple sure gets more than $400..

So thats why they have to kill all the unlocks if they can to keep their profit higher!

ok i get it they only get 400 not 680 so they would rather 0$ that makes sense now thanks for clearing that up!

ps. im on at&t so honestly it doesnt bother me but it just seems they would like to make more money but whos to say they dont "accedently overlook" the security flaws that allow unlocking! i know at&t would have something to say with them allowing unlocking but it seems they will keep unlockers one firmware below the at&t so everyones happy!

      Quick question, well 2 actually.

If I order online from Apple UK does anyone know if they will be shipping 1.1.2 or 1.1.3. I know someone said they got a 1.1.2 testerday but i'm assuming thats from a retail store.

Anyone know if Apple UK accept foreign (i'm Irish) credit cards and ship to a non-card holders address in England.

And please please Dev team keep this away from the public so we can finally stop Apple profiteering from this thing. Cheers.

I hope you are kidding, the whole point of this thread is to discuss the fact that we are WAITING for a 1.1.3 jailbreak method to be released.

In other words, YOU CANT DO THAT RIGHT NOW!

      hmmm..

can any of you observant guys point out something wrong with that video? or is that a dev?
if it's a dev, it's in bizarro world cause it's a mirror image, duh.

Most likely. Depends in which form the jailbreak is in, however.

some iphone modding sites are saying you need to do hardware modifications for the 1.1.3 jailbreak. i hope this isnt true or i wont be updating my phone i dont like the thought of opening up my phone and permanantly modding it. with hardware modds, can apple just "change" something in the next update so that the hardware modd isnt working anymore, and also make your phone briked because they make it so that the circuts that you shorted with the hardware mod are required for the next update?
