This update is PACKED with stuff. Finally Google Maps might function properly, a customizable home screen, SMS multiple people, lyrics, chapter support, and webclips... it is a GREAT update.

Sure it doesn't have everything you want... that is the economics of life, unlimited wants, limited resources.

I mean, it's better than nothing, right?

MacBook AIR to be released!!! The worlds thinnest notebook!

MacBook Air is 0.16" to 0.76". The thickest part of the MacBook Air is thinner than the thinnest part of the Sony. It fits inside a envelope

      Magnetic latch, 13.3" widescreen display

display is LED backlit. iSight is built-in. MacBook-like keyboard, but with an ambient light sensor

Move a window by double-tap and move. Rotate a photo by pivoting your index finger around your thumb. Of course, pinch-zoom.

      Multi-touch trackpad

80 GB hard disk standard, 64 GB SSD as an option. "they're pricy, but they're fast"

      1.8" Hard Drive

1.6 GHz Standard, 1.8 GHz Option -- Intel Core 2 Duo

Otellini: The processor is as thick as a nickle and as wide as a dime.

Apple asked Intel to shrink the Core 2 Duo. Intel shrunk the processor by 60%.

Other features: 45 Watt MagSafe, 1 USB 2.0 port, Micro-DVI, Audio Out

      802.11n + Bluetooth 2.1/EDR

      5 hours of Battery Life

No optical drive, but a Superdrive accessory is available for $99. Also, software comes with the MacBook Air that allows you to "borrow" a Mac or PCs optical drive.

      2 GB Memory standard

      $1799

Pre-orders today, shipping in two weeks!!!!!

Environmental highlights: fully aluminum case (good for recycling), first fully mercury and lead free display, circuit boards are BFR free, retail packaging are 56% less volume than MacBook.

YES THATS A MACBOOK AIR INSIDE THAT ENVELOPE

hmm rotate photos with two finders on touchpad, thats new

80gb hd with 64 gb SSD optional is prtty good,

intel core 2 duo 1.6-1.8 GHz is a bit slow imho

I am still disappointed with the iphone news. No mention yet at least of a 3G or a HDSPA support. Or exchange support ::sigh::

have to plug the air into an external cd drive or hook up to another computer, thats sorta lame

battery life specs look good though @5 hrs . . . if apple can match their battery claims for once

      2gb memory is good

Ignore what I said, I misread your post. Hmmm I do wonder how they're going to handle that. From what I read, I don't think the touch software is going to be updated, and will remain without the programs out of the box with the extra content available through a download.
