  • Gameboy Advanced Emulator for iPhone/iPod Touch
For all of you that want to play gameboy advanced games on your iphone, the time has come!! The folks at zodttd.com have released gpSPhone, a gameboy advanced emulator.

This should be available via installer now. If you want to install it manually here is the link

Place gba_bios.bin (GBA BIOS) in /Applications/gpSPhone.app/ do not ask for or share for links for this . . . you will be banned if you do
    Place your roms in /var/root/Media/ROMs/GBA
we will not provide roms here, or link to them, so don't even ask, don't post links to roms . . . . once again warez = banned here.

    Things that still need work:
    - Compatibility is lower than usual but many games are playable. This is being worked on as a high priority.
    - Sound output is disabled, but it IS being emulated. So performance will only get better as this feature gets worked on.
    - Auto frameskip might be off. Switch to manual frameskip if needed.
    - GUI and instructions need a lot of work.

be sure to check out the developers site for updates on the project.

    thanks realisticmind1

      nevermind. nice app

      Thanks

EDIT: Okay I'm now so far, that I can select the game, but when it starts the screen remains black and no sound. Same for NES. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

I get the same problem. Quite annoying. Its impossible to play mario karts.

Pokemon works well. Except you cant choose any attacks on the right hand side of the four options. Disapointing. lol.

Oh well, hopefully they'll update it today.

Or any savegame converters will be great =)
Download visual boy advance or advance link. It uses the same format saves. Actually i think most do. Just SCP into ur phone and copy tha sav file in tha directory where u save ur Roms into tha Roms directory on ur computer

I have testd this with visual boy advance nd it works perfect

Wow... it's amazing what a step up the sound is from NES to GBA!! The sound output is REALLY loud... definitely louder than any GBA i've had. And its not distorted at high volumes at all. (But obviously, the emulation is still slow so there's a ton of... ugly sound)

yeah its just a matter of time that they get this thing running fast and smooth... its going to be like NES emulator was... just takes awhile before they get the kinks out

When u jailbreak 1.1.1 using AppSnapp (www.jailbreakme.com) it will automactially install installer 3.0 on it.

If your stupid and deleted it like i did. Well you'll have to ask someone for the .app folder so you can use IphoneBrowswer or SSH to send it to ur iphone and restart ur phone.

Or using Ibrickr, just install INstaller 2.61.
It'll still have the GBA emulator and will update every time u use the application.

I found a way around that problem in pokemon. When you want an attack on the right, hit the "select" button, swap the first attack with any one on the right, then you can use it! takes a bit longer to do an attack, but its worth it!

The fix for the black screen is to ensure you are using the right GBA Bios. There are a few out there, and only one works with this. The correct MD5 for a working BIOS is a860e8c0b6d573d191e4ec7db1b1e4f6.

Okay thank you very much. I've got it now fixed. But the NES emulator still shows black screen. Any idea for that?

      Thanks

Yeah - it would be nice to get a list going of what games actually play well.

If that's okay to do ......................
