  • Jailbreak 1.1.2 software released Win/OS X
So many are confused about how exactly to jailbreak to 1.1.2

If you are running a 1.1.2 phone you need to get back to 1.1.1. This method is documented countless times on this site and the rest of the web. If is also included in the readme file packaged in the zip file linked below.

Now that you have a 1.1.1 phone you need to get installer working.

    Install OktoPrep via Installer

    upgrade to 1.1.2

Conceited software has released software that will jailbreak 1.1.2, installs installer, and install ssh app. Both windows and mac versions are available and you can get them here:
    http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/site/112jb.html

Run the conceited software 1.1.2 jailbreak software, it will take about 10 minutes to complete.

Note: if you did not install OktoPrep before you upgraded to 1.1.2 none of this will work

I have a couple questons which were not answered in this thread.

      1. I was previously Unlocked and I Virginized the phone to upgrade to 1.1.1. By Virginizing the phone thats perminent correct? I should have no problem being that I was previously unlocked this time around.

      2. I MOD'd the Ringtone Playlist so it won't erase ringtones on sync. It does say it can not sync but still does which is expected. Does this PL modification cause any problems in upgrade?

      3. I assume any ringtones get erased . Does the current method for 1.1.1 still work to add ringtones to 1.1.2? And do the custom system sounds still work on customize?

      4. are there any programs from 1.1.1 that do not work on 1.1.2?

5.I noticed that the current Customize has a setting to choose which firmware you have. Should this be set to 1.1.2 before the upgrade is done or should it be set afterwards.

6.When you upgrade from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 it erases all programs, correct?

what the hell do u need a percentage button for
Actually a percent key would be nice.
If you need to figure out price discounts its very handy instead of taking time to figure it. Because if you Minus .50 off of say $2 it makes $1.50 not $1 which would be 50%.

      1. If you re-virginized to 1.1.1, you have to jailbreak again so that you can install OKtoPREP. This is the key step that allows you to jailbreak the phone once 1.1.2 is installed. As long as your phone is jailbroken and OKtoPREP is installed, you should be fine.

2 & 3. No the modding doesn't cause any upgrade problems. All of the Ringtone.plist modding is no longer necessary. If you update to iTunes 7.5 and fw 1.1.2, all you have to do is rename your .m4a files to .m4r and import them into iTunes. (SEE THIS TUTORIAL) It will recognize them as ringtones and you can sync them to the phone as if they were puchased. I don't know about custom system sounds.

      4. Not that I have found so far. I am still testing different programs. So far, 1.1.2 seems more stable than 1.1.1. Installer is a bit sluggish as has been reported.

      5. I don't know. I don't use customize.

      6. Yes, but most program settings remain. When you re-install them, the settings are still there. All my Summerboard themes were still there, wallpapers, etc...

      Hope this helps...

      you are an idiot

the .5 was you multiply by .5 instead of 50%

      so 2 times .5 would = 1

i thought hackers were supposed to be smart, i mean they do figure out how to mod the software but they cant add?
I know. I am just saying its easier to input $10.00 - %50 when you are on the run instead of going 10 x. 50 = $5.00 $10-$5 = $5. Sorry if it came aross differently.I was just saying a percent option would be nice, not that its necessary.

I followed the instruction, after installing the 1.1.1 and oktoPrep, and then upgraded to 1.1.2. No icon was shown....
Now my phone is 1.1.2....just have to wait for the jailbreak for that version....hopefully soon

Did you run the jailbreak scripts from your puter? If you did, Did you reboot your phone? You need to reboot your phone, and then it will reboot itself, then you will see installer on the springboard.

Ok well now the update worked. But when I click on the "osx" icon to jailbreak I get this message in terminal..

"Last login: Tue Nov 13 00:10:01 on ttys000
      /Users/AnthonyG/Downloads/1.1.2-jailbreak/osx ; exit;
      Macintosh:~ anthonyg$ /Users/AnthonyG/Downloads/1.1.2-jailbreak/osx ; exit;
      Unable to access jarfile jailbreak.jar
      logout

      [Process completed]"

so then I tried just clicking on the jailbreak.jar file and I get this message..

"Cannot connect to your device. If you are having trouble restart the computer connect the device and try again."

I am on a powerbook G4. Someone please help! I want my 3rd party apps back!

      1. A: Yes, thats all you need.
      2. A: You can use either version of iTunes. As long as you "Update" and not restore. If iTunes automatically updates you to 1.1.2, id use that one, otherwise you can Shift+click and choose your 1.1.2.ispw.
      3. A:You need to install oktoprep. thats it. Once you install oktoprep and update, run the scripts that are in the download that cash pointed you to. (leave your phone connected to your computer)

      Thats all you need brotha!

I'm not 100% certain bout this but I believe the OSX and IPHUC portions of this are designed for Intel macs, not PB's...

What u say is correct. Some people are having problems and most seem to be people on mac. But if u are on windows I see no reason u would have a problem and the jailbreak takes about 10 depending on your comp and if u now what your doing but if u still have question or for that matter anyone who still have question email me at [email protected]

I'm stuck....I'm running windows xp. I had jailbroken 1.1.1 for a while now, I installed the oktoprep software through installer, updated to 1.1.2. Then downloaded the jailbrake software, clicked on the windows.bat file. The command prompt opens up but quicly dissapears. I even followed the instruction on the windows section, which said to press return when the command prompt opens up, but still the same result. Any suggestions?

      Some help here is needed.

I upgraded to 1.1.2 following everything stated here and everything went fine. When I click on the Windows jailbreak and it starts up but then when you click on jailbreak it sayd "Unrecoverable error, see console for information" in console it says "Cannot Launch iPHUC!" .
I checked the version of iPHUC in the jailbreak folder and if I launch it myself it works and does connect to the phone as I am able to type ls and see phone directories.

It seems to be something to do with the software and not the phone but here is the steps I took.

Started with 1.1.1.,Installed OKTOPREP from installer, rebooted phone, Double checked in Installer if OKTOPREP was installed, It was, Went to Itunes and let it update (NOT RESTORE) to 1.1.2. Now I am just stuck on Jailbreak.

      I am using Windows Xp.
I do have Net Frameworks 3.0 installed.

      Pls Help.

Don't worry, you can perform all the good stuff to your new iPhone and don't need to sign up for a contract after the purchase. You are using iTunes to activate and to get yourself into a two year contract - SINCE YOU DON'T WANT IT, DON'T DO IT!!!!
