    Insanely awesome iPhone hacker and developer "Core" just finished implementing AFP for the iPhone and iPod touch. This software connects your iPhone (or touch) to your computer using AFP, the AppleTalk Filing Protocol. Your iPhone shows up on your desktop as a disk with full read/write access.

      Not really

      On a Mac this allows you to mount your iPhone like a drive with full access as a storage device attached to your computer without any additional applications running. WinSCP still requires an application running on your computer

      so this does basically what an SFTP client like cyberduck does without needing wifi? Can you just drag and drop?

      Well I'm pretty sure I did it right and I'm not getting a response in windows. Looks as if windows users are stuck for this one.

      You need WIFI, remember your connection requires an IP-Address!

      Drag and Drop works just fine, THX to Erica - GREAT JOB. I am running 1.1.2 and like my new File Browser!

      seems like it's for Apples to Talk so no, I don't think that Windows will have this . . . yet

      Just did it. Great work! Only have to change the icons now
      Now we have to figure out how to make it start by itself on startup.(after rebootng)

      I kinda disagree on this one. although cyberduck is really great, i still find the finder nicer somehow + you can assign icons to the iphone disk

      Ultimately afp = cyberduck = ssh in terminal
      i'd say it goes by the ease of use.

      How about power usage?

      I know having SSH on all the time will definitely shorten battery life since the SSH server in the iPhone is constantly "listening" for incoming traffic.

      By installing this do you have this same issue? Bettery life for me is paramount!

      Not if you turn off SSH in Services app
