  • 1.1.2 unlocked!
The iPhone elite dev team says they've unlocked 1.1.2. Downloads are here on the Google code site. This is unconfirmed and untested as of right now, but if you just can't wait to get your 1.1.2 iPhone unlocked, there you go. Someone ping us in the comments below and let us know if it works for real.

Click here for the anysim 1.1.2 download

pf edit: as of yet the lockdownd issue is NOT resolved, so we do NOT have a SIM unlock for 1.1.2.

i switched over to Vista on my MBP so I could update iTunes to 7.5... I use iNdependence to much on the Mac side, so I didnt wanna upgrade with that. Redownloading 1.1.2 about to run the update option...

ought oh, phone just rebooted, going in to 1.1.2 upgrade (pray for me)....

lol, it upgraded, but i'm stuck at the activation screen. I can *#307# but since the TIFF exploit is dead it does no good. any ideas? lol

Well, it seems that Apple finally killed IPSF... I upgraded my IPSF unlocked phone to 1.1.2, and then downgraded back to 1.1.1. I then went to jailbreakme.com and ended up with a 1.1.1 activated phone with the new baseband, and while everything seemed to be working as normal, the phone would not catch a network, and when I went to choose a carrier, it said 'error', leading me to believe that the new baseband is NOT compatible with IPSF. Trying to virginize and we'll see what happens!!!

Update: Thankfully, Ibrahim clarifies in the comments, because I'm not sure I understand myself. The team has basically figured out a way to downgrade 1.1.2 to 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 and unlock it. They haven't actually unlocked the 1.1.2 iPhone, because it hasn't been jailbroken yet, but they have unlocked the new modem firmware.

Hello, i still don't understand, why people want so much to upgrade their phones to 1.1.2 to have international languages and formats. Instead of that you can just add this (http://rus-iphone.com/rus) url to the sources in installer.app and you'll have a lot of languages and keyboards! I used this source to add Russian language, but there are much more...

Don't bother to upgrade if everything works fine on 1.1.1. This is just a minor update from Apple so sit down, relax and wait. Unless you are craving for the annoying Cantonese language.

well I finally got 1.1.2 jailbroken and installed anysim 1.2, started it and it locked up the phone, couldnt get the phone back up and running. if i turned it off and back on, I would get the white apple logo for a minute, then the spinning gear in the middle of the screen and spinning and spinning... oddly enough, iTunes saw the phone while this was going on, as if the iPhones UI was locked up, but the phone was running... trying again...

it locked it up again. 1st time I ran anysim 1.2 on my iPhone 1.1.2 it started the progress bar and locked up on flashing baseband I believe, 2nd time it locked up right off the bat.

People should keep in mind that this solution/app was not posted by the iPhone Dev team, it was posted by the splinter faction. Not that *that* is a bad thing, but it does state on the site that it hasn't been fully tested.

To me, this means that the smart money is playing the wait and see game... waiting for multiple success stories and (potentially) detailed How-To's *before* engaging in jacking up my functional, unlock'd v1.1.1 iPhone.

Will we be seeing unlock/jailbreak guides for the UK/EU variant of the 1.1.2 as well, soon?

I did my Unlocked Iphone to 1.0.2 with the MAC OS guide found in this site... I have not yet upgraded to any further unlocked firmware. can someone tell what are my next steps? is it possible to still upgrade to 1.1.1 or does it has to be up to 1.1.2? what guides should I follow?
      Thanks everyone...

i like 1.1.1 better than 1.0.2 and it is relatively easy to upgrade. 1.1.2 doesnt seem to have any real advantages, so i say go ahead and upgrade to 1.1.1 for now

would this mean virginize and upgrade through the 'Guides' section? Only thing is if, when upgrading, would itunes try to upgrade directly to 1.1.2? or we still have option to 1.1.1 version.?

Was your iPhone 'unlocked' or just jailbreak'd to allow customization? More information about your upgraded/iBrick'd scenario will likely be helpful to others.

Does anybody have a link to firmware Version 1.1.1.
I don't want to download it from apple seeing that 1.1.2 is out there wild now. I just want a copy to upgrade if I decided later to make the jump to 1.1.1.

      Thanks
