You can find the update in itunes and we'll have it here shortly: (Thanks to Raxxal for the links)

Here you can get the new updates:

    For 3G Iphone

    For 2G Iphone

MMI Note: If you have a jailbroken phone or if your phone is unlocked.....DO NOT UPDATE....until we get word from the Devs
*First generation users - if you upgrade in iTunes you will lose your jailbreak, but retain your unlock/activation due to the baseband not changing. If you restore, you will lose your jailbreak AND activation but remain unlocked.

Note to 3G Users - If you upgrade in iTunes to 2.1 and have intelliscreen installed (or other programs that modify your com.apple.springboard.plist you WILL get the Spinning Wheel of Death after you upgrade and have to restore.

Quickpwn/Winpwn/Pwnage DO NOT WORK on this new firmware yet.

Thanks to Reeko for posting it in the Iphone Talk Section

Quickpwn does not work, i just tried to run it on 2.1 and it just hangs at the end, I had to do a restore after running it, thought I would take one for the team and try it out, even though I didn't think it would work.

No, I haven't tried to pwn the phone. Just happened when it was restoring backup settings. The lyrics don't pop up for all songs

      2.1 baseband version: 02.11.07

After a restore I have 203MB of "other" in iTunes which is normal, but I only have 14.4GB Free. Why is iTunes telling me my capacity is only 14.6GB on my 16gig phone?!

Well my 8gig iphone on 2.0.2 only says my capacity is 7GB so I dunno... oh well.

Just an idea, but perhaps that's what was causing all the dropped calls, the fact the strength of the signal was not correctly calibrated, and as soon as it was down to 1 bar or lower, it dropped out, when the actual correct signal was much stronger. Now it displays the actual signal strength, it'll correctly drop calls only when the correct signal is not strong enough. Just a theory anyway.

My 3G signal (UK O2) always displayed 1 bar at home, immediately after the update, it went up to 4. I didn't know about #3001#12345# so can't comment on that. Always had a good 3 bars at work though.

I'm also pleased to see a reminder alert for unread SMS, about time as I really missed SMSNotify.

looks like they got quickpwn to jailbreak the ipod touch, so it should be pretty quick for the iPhone, they have a new version out and said it might work on iphone but haven't tested it yet.

It's not actually true 16GB, it's advertised as base 10, not the correct base 8.

      16Gb in base 10 is actually 16000000000 bytes, so 16000000000/1024/1024/1024 = 14.9 GB

My 8GB iphone only has a true capacity of 7.08GB.

You'll notice the same when you buy something like a 300GB hard drive.
      The actual capacity is smaller.

No doubt there'll be another law suit against Apple soon for false advertising regarding the above

DuRo, I have asked before and haven't gotten a straight answer with respect to this. So hopefully you can help. I know that a lower number means better reception, but does "lower number" mean lower absolute number, or lower number in general? In your example, 89 is lower than 91, so, in absolute terms, 89 is better. However, in numerical terms, -91 is lower (or smaller) than -89, so -91 would be better.

      Thanks for any clarification!

That is obviously not 2.1. The battery icon and carrier name, hmmmm.
I've never got the lyrics on 2.0.2 or any other fw.

Or somehow he's got 2.1 jailbroken already, highly unlikely.

Sorry for the confusion, not in numerical terms. -89 is better.

You need to add the lyrics to your mp3's. I suggest using something like iLyrics to help you with this:
