^^ if that response was to me, the restore works just fine. for some reason my phone freeze after the phone reinstalls the backup info, and restarts. after restarting, it freezes on the load screen

I've done that about 5 times now with different custom ipsw's and have the same result everytime.
find any solutions im having the same problem?

What I did was, Im using Vista and set it to admin rights. It stopped crashing for me when I enter the partition space at 1000mb and had all boxes checked for installer, etc. Hope this helps

here's my story for this round of winpwn

      downloaded new winpwn 2.0.0.4
downloaded iphone firmware 2.0.1 (make sure you grab the right one..2g or 3g)

      uninstall previous version of winpwn
delete "cmw" folder in c:documents and settings/USERNAME/applications data/

      install new winpwn

i had itunes (7.7) open while my iphone is connected the whole time.

backup your iphone and make sure to have your iphone sitting comfy to avoid accidentally disconnecting the usb cord.

my iphone is currently running 2.0 jailbroken w/ cydia with appstore apps and some hacked apps.

      run winpwn

click browse .ipsw (look for the firmware you just downloaded)

      click ipsw builder

i checked cydia, installer and unchecked activate.

choose custom boot logos if you want

click build at bottom left and saved to desktop.

      once built, click "iPwner"

it will kill itunes and will indicate that you have just pwned your itunes.

open itunes and put iPhone into DFU mode.

SHIFT restore and find custom ipsw on desktop.

      2:14 am started
2:15-2:27am "preparing iphone software for restore" VERY LONG
      2:27-2:30am "preparing iphone software"
2:30-2:36am "verifying iphone softare" VERY LONG
      2:36-2:38am "restoring iphone firmware"
      2:39am FINISED

      25 minutes to PWN

restore your backup and you have a nicely pwned iphone!!!

cydia, installer, app store, itunes, youtube, hacked apps WORK 100%!

Hi guys, I have a question:

When I pwn my iTunes, it closes it and in the WinPwn status it says 'killing iTunes', after which the message pops up saying 'Your Itunes has been pwned!'

Is this normal? Can I open iTunes again and continue to restore my phone?

I just used Winpwn, selected everything except wipe, updated the baseband to 4.6, installed cydia and installer, everything works fine.

Yes, this is normal. just go ahead and open up itunes again, connect your iphone/itouch and put it into DFU. shift restore to your custom ipsw and sit back (for a long time) and restore your iphone/itouch.

OK first off you are going to love me and hate me. Here is your solution.
      1. Put phone in DFU mode and re restore it to the custom ispw. Sorry that's the hate me part.
      2. When done restore to back up. This will get you all of your contacts ect.
      3. When that is done hopefully you have made it back from church safe and sound. #2 takes time. You will think your computer rebooted or something because you will be back at the same screen that gave you the choice of restoring from back up or setting up a new phone. Pick set up new phone. Don't worry this will only take a few minutes. When done you will have e-mail and all of your contacts ect.

      4. thank me JK only if you'd like.

Ok, So i did it i got cydia and installer using 2.0.0.4 on a previously jailbroke phone, but everything else from the previous jailbreak is wiped. I pwned it using a seperate user account on my xp computer (as i have seen suggested on previous jailbreaks). Now can i go back to my regular user account and just restore the backup i made there? or will that just erase everything i have done and unjailbreak it?

If not what do i do? How can i get all my info back? The itunes i pwned it on has no contacts, texts, music, photo, or previous apps or themes. SO the phone is wiped of all that info and apps. So is there a way to restore with upsetting the jailbreak or do i have to re-add everything again?

I'm not sure why my posts never get answered but please help on this one. I am soooo close.

      Thanks,

if you made a backup before you upgrade then just right click on iphone in itunes and restor backup that will put contacts back on at least
if you didnt you will have to re add all your stuff again except when youve done right click iphone in itunes and create a backup that way next time you will be able to restore from it
sorry for stating the obviious but this how the rest of do it
