  • [Release] iPlus 2.0b for iPhone Jailbreaking | Activation | Unlocking
PF EDIT: Guide is up and ready here!

iPlus just got better with the latest release from ipluspwns.com. iPlus is quickly becoming the definitive tool for unlocking, jailbreak and activation of the iPhone. If you aren't already familiar with iPlus you need to check it out. Why choose iPlus? iPlus uses BL 3.9FakeBlank for bootloader downgrading. This means that the process is fully reversible (unlike some other tools), giving you the peace of mind that you can go back to where you started if you feel the need!

    Features of iPlus 2.0b include:
    • 1-Unlock and, if required, automatically downgrade the bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9FakeBlank
    • 2-Jailbreak
    • 3-Activate
    • 4-Install AFC2
    • 5-Add the following packages:
    • Installer
    • Community Sources
    • BSD subsystem
    • OpenSSH
    • VT-100

    And even more:
    • BSD Fix (backspace)
    • VT100 Fix (can't login)
    • Summerboard themes directory fix (installation issues)
    • Relocates Fonts and Ringtones (Allows for more than 120MB free for Apps!)
    • Customizable payloads!

This great release has many bug fixes including:
    • Unlock/downgrade strategy rework: Now safer than ever!
    • New Interface on the iPhone (using iPipe from MCA)
    • Fix for the "Repair Needed" problem reported by some users
    • iPlus will always reboot twice (and not 2 or 3 times)
    • Pass 2 visual feedback. Now users know what is going on
    • PC/Mac program will not end until everything is really done
    • Support for PPC
    • Better error handling
    • Empty payloads - just jailbreak
    • No need to install libreadline on MacOS X

Scared of a non GUI program? Don't be we'll have guides up very soon to show you how easy it is to mod your iPhone. For those of you that are still hesitant by a non GUI program don't worry! The next release of iPlus will include both a GUI and iTouch support.

      Use gbootloader

Here is a tutorial to downgrade: http://acujo.com/tutorials/how-to-do...software-only/

To upgrade back to 4.6 use the same process with a 4.6 bootloader image file

I guess I've just been lucky up to this point. I'll stay unmodded 'till 2.0.
I read through all of the posts, did extensive searches, tried all of the 'fixes' - the only thing that worked for me was to run ZiPhone with jailbreak option only and then let iTunes activate - that worked for me... maybe it will work for you, too.

      hi

i am on 1.1.1 unlocked, jailbroken (anySim) from 1.0.2

So all i have to do is plug it into iTunes as per the guide and restore to 1.1.4?

I remembered when i went from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 i had to somehow bring the phone back to "default" factory settings before doing the iTunes restore?

So i can do it straight from an unlocked iphone now then?

      just wanna confirm thanks!

yes you'll be fine, since you've already revirginized and went up to 1.1.1. just restore to 1.1.4 and use iplus -u

I figured it out (for me, at least).

Did you download the iplus2.0_JB file? If so, then THAT one doesn't install the installer, terminal or anything else.

You need the regular iPlus2.0b file that has the payload in it (it's the one used for jailbreak/activate/unlocking. Just use ' -j ' if all you want to do is jailbreak and get installer, etc.

Now that I've got it to work, this method saves A LOT of time
Thanx man, i'll have to try that later.

      YouTube 1.1.3/4 activation fix!!
Ok here you go for all of you who still can't get youtube working after using ziphone here's what i did and it worked.

get the lockdownd from http://tinyurl.com/2o6kla and replace the lockdownd in /usr/libexec
get these files http://www.macriot.com/support/thethreefiles.zip place them in /var/root/Library/Lockdown/
delete all files in the the activation records folder.
      (grabbed off hackint0sh forums)
After doing this and restarting your phone it may boot up normally but have no bars, this is cause it isnt activated. so just plug that mofo into iTunes and get you some activation! Sorry all you non att folk, I have no idea how hacktivation works or if this will work with it, I assume you may need to use ziphone, or iPlus to reactivate it after this, but i did this to my iphone 1.0.1 OOB which has had EVERY JB method used on it lol, and my girlfriends 1.1.3 OOB, both were restored to 1.1.4 & jailbroken only with ziphone 2.5c.

Now my question why the hell do i care about my bootloader? Im sure somewhere down the line its going to be upgradeable and reversible both ways

I still have a 1.0.2 iphone that i used the old iUnlock method(the long, and painful method that screws up the baseband)
Will I be able to upgrade to 1.1.4 with out doing any major modding to get iPlus to work for my phone?

All seems to have gone well up to this point, and here I am stuck:

      Attempting unlock for BL3.9
      Please wait...

Alas, I'm waiting and going nowhere. Understand however that my phone had the dreaded 'needs repair' message and has no baseband, etc... as I think many others have experienced. I have tried every trick in the book short of the hardware testpoint method and nothing seems to work.

I think you've got a great utility here but I wonder if there is anything that can kick my iPhone out of this limbo. I am not sure if the baseband is the problem or the bootloader; I always seem to get stuck on a bootloader issue and have no idea how to fix it. It's only software, right? Why should this be so difficult, if not impossible?

Any help will be most gratefully accepted.

you need to virginize first. i.unlock.no for details on upgrading to 1.1.1 and it has instructions. after that you can use iplus at 1.1.4

Try to use iBrickr to fix it, just a suggestion. also turn it off, when you turn it back on hold the home button and see about gettin to recovery mode!

Are you sure? this is going to suck... I had gone through this about 5 months ago when they first came out with the 1.1.1 jailbreak, but it didnt have a good GSM unlocker, so I went back to using 1.0.2 so I can use it as a phone once again.
It was a major pain getting it revirginized and making sure everything worked.

Do you know of any other ways to revirginize with out going through hell again?(possibly a GUI or one click program)

Thanks for the suggestions. iBrickr has not worked for me. I've downgraded to 1.0.2 and tried to erase and reflash the baseband using methods I've found online. I get this:

"Error: Baseband bootloader is too old; update to 1.8 or later and try again."

I've googled 'till blue in the face and have found no solution to that one. To my untrained mind, I see that my baseband does not exist and my bootloader does not let me get down there to fix it. Arrrrgh.

By now I've 'restored' my phone so many times and tried fixing the baseband/bootloader issue so much that I've probably made things worse. I guess I'm waiting for a utility that can just wipe everything clean and start from scratch, but I wonder if that's even possible.

oh so you originally used the OLD unlock method, revirginized to go up to 1.1.1. it wasn't to your satisfaction so you downgraded to 1.0.2 and unlocked again, with a different unlock method? it's only with certain unlock methods in 1.0.2 that you need to revirginize from what ive read. i'm not familiar with the firmware, but just double check on the website i gave you earlier

if its JB and you can ssh the BB upgrader to it (I saw it on installer one time) that may do the trick, but you would need to have a little knowledge on running native apps though through terminal

Indeed I have. I get stuck at "Spamming AT, waiting for response". There's always something I get stuck at...

I have just used iPlus successfully to jailbreak my 1.1.4 phone but there is still no IMEI, no ICCID, no Modem Firmware, no WiFi, and the 'needs repair' message is still there. I'll try iPlus now with -u again and see what happens when we get to the BL3.9 moment.

I can always restore to what looks like a useable state but always without a baseband.

EDIT :: Try this first!!! http://www.modmyi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10124

I think once you brick the base band you may be in for a new iphone I dont think there is a way to flash a new baseband yet, so what you should do is lie!

Get everything back to as close to factory default settings as you can (no jb) and take your phone to the att store and tell them that when you were updating to 1.1.4 from whatever you came from, your computer lost power, when you rebooted the computer and restarted the restore, your phone could no longer make phone calls! Make a big deal out of it, and they will probably fix it for free. My friend did this at the apple store here in Tx, quite a funny sight to see.

Also, demand a refund, a 16gig iPhone, and the att reps first born child. Settle with nothing less.... Good luck friend!

Yep, also tried that one already. I think in the end you are right. My phone has gone to baseband heaven and there is no way to bring it back. RIP. Thanks. Off to the Apple Store.
