  • ZiPhone - Unlock, Jailbreak, Activate, REPAIR your iPhone - NO DOWNGRADING REQUIRED!
Zibri has released ZiPhone - an incredible tool for activating, jailbreaking, repairing, and unlocking all versions of iPhones (unlock only works on 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 OTB).

Its incredibly easy to use, and both OS X and Windows versions are included in the download. Instructions from the readme:

Connect a brand new phone to the dock.
    Run the program

Well, you can also use a restored phone...
Or a normal in use phone...
    Well... whatever !
Windows download the app from the MMi downloads section (this version is packaged with the .exe gui), or if you're not an MMi member you can download it here or from MediaFire. Windows users you can get a gui here Copy to Ziphone folder and run. requirements : .Net framework 2.0 or above

OS X download the app here, or if you're not an MMi member you can download it here.

If you would like to compile the latest version the SVN is located: http://iphone-elite.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ZiPhone/

Here's how to use the app:

    Tutorial for noobs:

    1. Put iPhone in Dock

    2. Copy all files under C:

    3. Start/Run --> write cmd --> Hit Enter

    4. Drag ziphone.exe into the cmd window and you will see this:

    C:ziphone.exe"

    5. type -j -a

and it need to look like this:

    C:ziphone.exe" -j -a

    6. hit enter and follow directions! Directions looking like this:

    Loading zibri.dat.
    Searching for iPhone...
Please power off the iPhone, then hold the home button
and connect to dock to enter recovery mode.
    Working...
    Please wait 45".
    Done!

( To put your iPhone in recovery mode, hold down sleep/wake + Home Button until you see the iTunes logo on your iPhone)

    7. Do the same thing with dragging ziphone.exe to cmd and write -u

    This looks like this:

    C:ziphone.exe" -u

I will have a better guide up soon in the Wiki, this is just a basic rewrite of a guide a user tossed up.

Mad props to Zibri and the elite dev team for their incredible work on this!

This tool also can repair a phone with a "dead" baseband. To quote Zibri's blog

To REPAIR a *DEAD* baseband, do THIS:

Put the iphone in recovery mode (NOT DFU..normal recovery mode)

    Then run: ziphone -u

And you will have back IMEI and WIFI.

This procedure already worked on 3 phones.

no, because you have BL 3.9. There are ways to go 1.1.3 and unlock your phone, but it would mean going back to 1.1.1 first, and carry out a lot of steps (I did this, and it took me hours). I would wait a bit longer for an easy unlock for BL 3.9 phones if I were you.
      I call BS on that.

I use macintosh MacBook Pro and the iPhone was jailbroke, activated and unlocked to 1.1.2 from 1.0.2 before I upgrade to 1.1.3 in iTunes.

While all of this sounds extremely exciting (well for me anyway!)

My question is stands regarding WiFi - i have an OTB 1.1.1 with 3.9BL which was J/B,activ,unocked from new then upgraded to 1.1.2 all fine then studpidly to 1.1.3 through iTunes - which messed up the baseband.

Spent two weeks downgrading to 1.0.2 and finanlly managing to virginize as somewhere along the line my WiFi has been screwed up and works very intermitantly!

Was pure fluke i think getting it connected and donload virginizer pack.

If i run and update again through iTunes i guess this programme will J/B & activate BUT, and a very BIG BUT will i need WiFi to install anySim1.1.3 to unlock?

If so - NO WAY HOSAY!

(Scared just to upgrade to 1.1.2 again in case something goes wrong!)

Just tried it on a OTB iPhone that was bricked after it was upgraded to 1.1.3 and any AnySim applied. Worked perfectly. Nice job on this.

That' s all right and now this is my configuration:

      Firmware 1.1.3
      Bootloader 4.6
      BaseBand 04.02.13_G

It seems to be ready like a Dev Team 1.1.3 soft jailbreak, so I need Navizon GPS for using maps, and I need some fix.
Posted on other forums. You sould now restore to 1.1.3 with itunes, this will upgrade modem to 4.03.13 but remains unlocked. Then use tool to Jailbreak and activate...

      Let me know

I have an older Iphone, was 1.1.1 OTB, 3.9 (not 4.6). I mistakenly ran this with the unlock command last night (don't need it as I have an ATT SIM). Since then, I can't get a wireless signal at all on the phone on my SIM (not when in activation mode even).

Help!?!? I have no idea what to do. I have tried restoring, etc. Do I need to do a virginize or something more severe to get it back now? ANY help would be so appreciated.

I have ATT but am on a discount FAN plan thru work so I still do need to use the activate command and the jailbreak (I do not activate thru ATT). I just tried restoring the phone to 1.1.3 and ziphone -a did NOT activate the phone . ziphone -a -j DID activate and jailbreak me, but I still have NO phone functions/carrier info or signal.

      What did I screw up!?!?!?

I really could use a hand because I rarely see this problem mentioned or a solution.

      B.
You still need to do ziphone -u to unlock the phone.

What modem firmware does this leave you with?

Does it keep the 1.1.3 firmware 04.03.13_G when unlocked or does it do the same as the other unlock out and downgrade it to 04.02.13_G ?

      Any information would be great?

It should automatically install, if you were trying to jailbreak, it obviously didnt work, try the process again.
