A version number change of X.Y.0 - X.Y.1 etc means bug fix only. X.0.Z - X.1.Z means enhancements, some small additional features and bug fixes. 2.Y.Z - 3.Y.Z means major new features, enhancements sometimes even an overhaul of the operating system.
If YellowSn0w is a bug... then yes, it fixes that.

if ur apps arent visible because u used poof and then restored...all u have to do is:
      go into settings>restrictions
turn restrcitions on, and then off, and all hidden apps should be visible

I have tried it on my officially unlocked 3G iPhone, u still can downgrade back from 2.2.1 to 2.2 Firmware but offcourse modem stay at 2.30.03.(which for officially unlocked iPhone, phone will still work) You can then jailbreak as usual. As for locked iPhone, can restore back to 2.2, jailbreak but phone function will not work.

Why not, surely it's just YellowSn0w that won't work?

I can tell you exactly how someone can accidently upgrade. my iPhone literally crashed the other day, it asked me to plug it into itunes, and when I did poof 2.2.1 got installed. Everything got erased and of course this happened on the same day that the new version was released. Would have been much much much happier if it happened the day before. Maybe Apple put a timer in it to crash it, or maybe I'm paronoid... When I figure it out, I'm sure "they" will already know... got to go someone is following me!

2.2 was the first time I used quickpwn so not sure how the update process works. So everytime I want to update that means I will have to reinstall all my themes and apps?

Firstly - until the Dev team release a pwn tool that works with 2.21 you don't want to upgrade unless you want to lose all your apps - at the moment you can't jailbrake 2.21.

There is an app in Cydia that backs up all your cydia apps and iTunes will backup all your iTunes apps.

Just backup your cydia apps - upgrade and install the cydia backup tool and it will restore them - you will lose any custom settings but that's all.

Unless, of course, you use categories - in which case, read up first!

I believe you're referring to AptBackup. If that's the case, I wouldn't fully rely on it. It's only ever worked one time for me, the other times, it froze my phone and I had to re-restore and start over.

So yes, give it a shot... however, you may want to make a list of Cydia apps you've installed just in case...

I believe you are right - and I've not used it myself so can't vouch for it personally.

2.2 added features and works well - why not upgrade? 2.21 doesn't seem to add anything worth having.

Javacript (the only 2 sites I go to that use java are these forums and passpack so it's ok I mostly browse from home anyways) and plug-ins (which I really have no idea what they are. I think it's quicktime related)

i guess a completely useless update...really not worth the effort to upgrade, jailbreak and then install all the apps again.

      Hey Guys.
This is the first update since i jailbroke my iPhone.
as you all are writing, i shouldn't update, before it could be jailbreak it again.
But, is it possible in any ways to keep my apps, themes and all the other stuff i got from Cydia? Like, back-up or something?
