  • MMS on the iPhone

Wednesday ModMyI member Suavphisticated has released MMS, a native iPhone app which can send MMS directly from your iPhone. MMS receiving is NOT yet implemented, but is in the development process.

Great job Suavphisticated - this has been MUCH needed by the iPhone community! It will be interesting to see how MMS receiving is implemented here.

MMS is available via the Community Source maintained by Ste.

NOTE: this is still an early beta release. It is slightly buggy, but is working. You will need to set it up with your carrier MMSC info. Please add your carriers MMSC info to the Carrier APN Wiki so we can get a nice complete listing. There's a good list here too (thanks, mjaydb) You will also need MMS enabled on your account.

    Digg it.

I don't think thats an accurate statement... after all, "everything" would include mms.

On the other hand, if you have an unlocked iPhone and are using it on ATT network, more than likely you would be using some sort of unlimited medianet plan which would include the MMS and set up on your account on the network side with MMS.

It would be intresting to see if anyone has got the MMS app to work on ATT network to let us know the following:
A: If your iPhone is locked or not?
B: What data plan you are using
      A: Locked AT&T
B: Family Share iPhone Plan w/ Unlimited TXT

      Works great

Ok so the weird thing bout this app is..... I just bought my wife an iPhone yesterday and turned my plan into a family plan with the unlimited data for both. Now all of a sudden the mms app started working for me. It didn't work for me when I had my solo plan!! Very odd!

Everyone is overlooking that those with AT&T that have had success are the one's with a plan that's not an Iphone Plan i.e(Family Plan)

I joined AT&T from Verizon after the switch from Cingular to AT&T. Does that have something to do with why it doesn’t work? I have 1.1.1 that is only jailbroken. The data plan I have is the in between msg plan (1500) that I pay $10 more for. I hope it works, and I’m jealous of those who got it to work, I miss sending pics with my phone. =(

Well I have the unlimited internet/media net and unlimited text messaging but I share minutes with my sister, does that count as a "family plan" cause I haven't gotten it to work thus far??

My husband and I both have iPhones and we are on the family plan. I tried sending an MMS to my daughter (ATT phone, non-iPhone) and it has not worked

They confirmed that I have messaging unlimited.. which includes the ability to send and receive unlimited texts, video, picture and instant messages.

so yeah, I'm pretty sure I have mms enabled.. and it's not working with those settings D:

Idk if this matters.. but I'm running a 1.0.2.. It was jailbreaked through iBrickr.. maybe that makes a difference? i d0n0.

I dunno, but maybe, since you are on AT&T you might need to update to the latest firmware to be able to send MMS. Again, this is my best guess since I use another carrier outside the US. BTW, I can't recieve, just sent pics. Good luck.

I dont think firmware matters much, Im on ATT with umlimited internet/media and firmware 1.1.2 jailbroken, and it says it sent, but no one recieves them. Even emailing them to myself doesn't work.

And recieveing MMS isn't enabled with this yet, but their working on it.

Same here it say it was sent but no one ever receives it. I'm on 1.1.2 and att just waiting for a update that fixes the issue.

I agree. But I also can't wait for an update that allows it to work for T-Mobile in the U.S.!

Has anybody checked about sending MMS's to an email account? I was able to send one to a friend on Verizon using the standard ATT settings but not to my email account...
