  • MMi at Macworld: DryCASE Keeps Your iPhone Dry at the Beach

Going to the beach with electronics can be a nerve-racking experience, trying to keep sand and water off of your expensive gear. Most of the time, itís easier to just leave your devices at home, rather than risk them getting wet. But what about your precious iPhone? You canít very well leave it at home and leaving it on a crowded beach unprotected, isnít a great idea either. Well now you can keep your iPhone or iPod Touch with you at all times, including when you go into the water. Simply put it into a waterproof DryCASE ($39.99).

ďThe DryCASE is a flexible, crystal clear waterproof bag that allows complete use of your phone or camera while keeping it dry and clean.Ē The great thing about this case is the fact that you can still use your iPhone while itís in the case and it even has a headphone jack so you can still listen to music. DryCASE also sells waterproof headphones so if you feel like taking a swim, you can listen to your favorite songs while you do. The case comes with an armband and a sports belt is available as well. DryCASE is also available for the iPad ($59.95).

The DryCASE is waterproof up to 100 feet. Iím not sure Iíd want to go scuba diving with my iPhone in one of these cases, but I would go Snorkeling with one. I donít go snorkeling as much as Iíd like to, but the next time I do, Iíll be protecting my iPhone with a DryCASE.

      $39.99 and it looks like a zip-loc bag on a string... I think I would rather use a .20c Zip-loc bag.

I tried once just to compare it's reading ability against my kindle. It was worthless... Outrageous glare and after less than 30 minutes, a warning that it was too hot.

I wish they would just make the devices waterproof to begin with. Or at the very least water resistant. I mean seriously. A few seals and some metals used in the ports that are resistant to corrosion we would be set

      1. a ziploc bag works the same way
      2. Headphones don't need to be waterproof- unless you're concerned about rust~ last I checked there's no battery in headphones....

      Not !!!!

This is so stupid. I could use ziplock bag and put the phone under water it'd be the same sh*t.

This would be nice when I go to the Bahamas in 2 weeks now that I know I'm going to be at the beach most of the times

Maybe anyone who wants to go to the beach and relax maybe read a book, listen to music, surf the web if it's a 3G.

The best part I think is that You can still listen to it.

A must have, I ordered one and can't wait for it to come. Will be awesome for boating, I used to slip my sim card in a old Nokia for beach/boating. Love it.
