  • Order Unsubsidized iPhone 3GS By Hacking Apple Online Store & Get it Delivered
This is a great news for all people who'd like to have an unsubsidized iPhone 3GS. Now there's no need to go to Apple stores and get in the queue to get one - as you can get it directly from Apple's Online store, delivered at your doorstep on June 19th!

To get it, you must follow the little trick below. It has been confirmed to work by an Apple rep.
    1. Install Firebug extension for firefox.
    2. Open any Non-apple product page on Apple store, for eg the Mophie Juice pack.
    3. Click on the little bug in bottom bar and then select Inspect.
    4. Click on Add To Cart button.
    5. Replace the prduct code (TV943VC/A in the above example) with one of the below for the desired product.
      • iPhone 3G 8GB ($499): MB046LL/A
      • iPhone 3GS 16GB Black ($599): MB715LL/A
      • iPhone 3GS 16GB White ($599): MB716LL/A
      • iPhone 3GS 32GB Black ($699): MB717LL/A
      • iPhone 3GS 32GB White ($699): MB718LL/A
    6. Finally, click the "Add To Cart" button again and the phone will be added without an AT&T contract.

All the credit for this find goes to the administrator at iTalkiPhone.com

P.S. The phone will be unsubsidized, NOT unlocked!

    Thanks to yifanlu!

Yeh I agree, someone please hack the UK Apple Store, for some reason this year the iPhone's are ridiculously overpriced!

PS. MMi is a few days late on this, this was posted on Xsellize a few days ago.

You all do realize that the prices after doing this "trick" are the same exact as walking into an Apple store and paying full price for the phone with no commitment. . .

Your missing the point. Its not about the price, its getting it delivered at your door on the 19th vs. waiting in lines forever.

I though unsubdized meant that you get the iPhone without going on AT&T.

This trick does not seem to work in the Apple Canada store. I tried it on Apple USA and it worked fine. Tried the same on Apple Canada and when I click add to cart to add it, it shows and empty window.

      Sux.

Can you buy the iPhone for its full price at an Apple store without a AT&T contract?

Unsubsidised means that the carrier does not subsidise the price. But all phones sold by Apple in the USA are locked to AT&T and in the UK to O2.

Luckily we have the Dev Team working to help us out on that

The price after tax ain't worth it. I'll go the early termination route.

No, I know that the apple store hack is for an unsubsidized phone but I was saying people were talking about getting a non-contract phone from AT&T store or the Apple Store so I was wondering if that was true. I had no idea you could just pick up a full price phone ala the first gen phones. You couldn't do that for 3g could you?

so this is to buy one without contract but still locked to at$t?
so this is for at$t prepaid only then basically?

^It would mean you arent eligible for an upgrade with AT&T being a current customer with a contract. Not prepaid.

So wait a second, does this mean once they are released I can go to an apple store and buy one, without a contract, for full price? I thought with the 3G you could only buy it if you extended your AT&T contract, I didnt think you could just buy the phone.

I just want the phone, I don't care about the price

EDIT: Or is this the only time I could buy a 3GS without being an AT&T customer?

I ordered one. They only let you order one at a time apparently because I tried getting 3 and they said I had too many in my cart :P

And I plan on selling a few on eBay because I'm sure they'll be going for well above the $600-$700 that I paid if the last two years are any indication.

Ummm yeah, good luck with that.

If thats a true unsubsidized, non-contract price....then why would someone who could buy one from Apple for $700, want to buy one from you for more?? The reason they sold for more than retail before is because it was a contract discounted price.

So would this mean that we could get the iPhones like we could with the 1st gen, so buy the iPhone take it home and unlock it all without a contract?
