  • Dashboard on its Way to the iPhone

In lieu of his announcement that he will not be continuing development of Stacks after version 2.2 Steven Troughton-Smith has revealed that his next iPhone project will be Dashboard. For those that are unfamiliar with OS X, Dashboard is a nifty little area that holds/displays widgets like clock, currency converters, weather, dictionary, and countless more all on one screen.

Dashboard on the iPhone could be a very neat way to throw a bunch of useful but compact widgets on one screen of the iPhone for quick access and we hope to see it released sometime soon. The video above is by Steven and is his Dashboard program running within the SDK. Looks smooth so far.

      ^That would be cool.

But it would have to come from Apple's mouth.

Well, i hope its not like that app on cydia that switches the tabs (forgot the name) it gets pretty annoying while you are playing games or browing. You just sliding through whatever you're doing, minding your own business and suddenly you are switching tabs and you've lost your progress. I dont know if they fixed that bug, but this Dashboard could be causing the same problem... I just hope it doesnt.

I don't see why the cost of something makes it better or not. The "amazingness" (nice word huh? ) is based on how well it works, eye candy, etc....not the cost.

However, it would be "nice" if it were free or cheap.

Some things seem to be more amazing the more they cost.

Or, at least, so Apple think....

Why would anyone want dashboard on the iPhone? What advantage would it have over simply opening an app?

Forget dashboard......Who do I have to jerk off to get dock (sunburst) back on the ihpone? That was one of my most favorite programs.

Docs was way better than stacks and categories.
