Why would you want/care about the built in mic if it doesn't work with the iphone? Nonetheless they look pretty cool.

Why would you need a mic when using the iPod?

Didn't I read that they added recording capabilities? Hence the mic.

you can switch the songs through there like on the iPhone i'm pretty sure itouch owners would love that because it must be a pain having to pull it out everytime. The mic is useless but the clicking thing on it isn't.

      Apple's headphones are ****!
The drivers get messed up easily if you pump any bass-heavy music through it..

they should have a compatible version in my opinion. Makes no sense what so ever to have it compatible with the touch. Just my opinion.

I am sure they will make some to support the iPhone... they are most likely making these as a test run to see how well they sell. I would pick sennheisers or shures over these for this price (I am guessing they are not as good)

Exactly what makes them iPhone incompatible?

If the plug fits, they work....just like any other headphones us iPhone users are using.
      What am I missing?

what's the purpose of the built in microphone when the new ear phone doesnt support iphone? totally pointless.

iphone and ipod plug are the same i.e. 3.5mm what makes the difference is the number of contacts on the plug. iphone is 4 while ipod is 3. both works on any mp3 which provides a 3.5mm socket but the 3 contacts will not have microphone function.

I agree that these should have been made compatible with the iPhone or a second set with the original iPhone cord w/ controller/mic. However, what I don't understand is how anyone here can criticize them without ever hearing them. Stop comparing them to Apple's crappy earbuds and give these a chance. With two drivers, these headphones should sound much better than most Senns or Shures. Only time will tell if they can compete with the top brands.
