  • AT&T MMS is On - Boom

3.0. No carrier setting edits. Cody gets a text from AT&T saying:
Picture and video messaging (MMS) is now available for iPhone. Txt, pic, or video msgs you send/receive are included in your msging plan and subject to the limits of your plan. To enable MMS, connect iPhone to your computer and click "Check for Updates" in iTunes, then restart your iPhone.
Send and receive are both working well for him (who else out there - who has never done a carrier settings hack and is on AT&T?).

EDIT: A little more info - his Settings > General > About shows carrier as AT&T 5.0, mine is showing AT&T 4.0. What are you guys seeing?

AT&T had said they'd be launching on Friday... and it looks like they are finally sticking to a deadline.

Working for anybody else? My iTunes still only asks me to update to 3.1, with no carrier update available, and doesn't show the Photo icon for MMS...

[QUOTE=StealthBravo;4968131]When you go to the store they will just replace the sim card in the phone. It just pops out from the top of the phone. no worries

I'm just worried when I take it the dude behind the counter is gonna see that it's jailbroken since it's all modded and be like, sorry dude you're s.o.l.

Update: got it working using these instructions for run

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nByjfsJzFb0&feature=player_embedded#t=66]YouTube - How to Enable MMS on iPhone 3G/3GS on 3.0 3.0.1 3.1 firmware Windows XP and Vista[/ame]

and using these instructions to enter my settings manually:

      **Note** (Advanced Only)
If you use the 5.0 carrier file you can KEEP your "cellular data network" & tethering

      In other words-
dtube: Basically 5.5 will give you instant mms with setting configured but will disable cellular data network. With 5.0, you have to configure mms parameter manually, but cellular data network is there thus tethering is

Follow the same directions but instead use this file (5.0):RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting

After updating to that file and restarting you must goto "cellular data network" (Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network)

      And update some your configs
      - Visual Voicemail change wap.cingular to acds.voicemail

      - MMS settings (below the Visual Voicemail ) should match this (leave blank fields blank):

      APN: wap.cingular
      Username:
      Password:
      MMSC: mmsc.cingular.com
      MMS Proxy: 066.209.011.32
      MMS Max Message Size: 614400
      MMS UA Prof URL:

      source: iPhone Update - MMS - 9.25.09

I wouldnt worry about that at an AT&T store but if you are concerned then just go to the store and ask for a new sim and tell them you left your phone at home. They dont care. I have gotten new sims before.

ok great....how the heck did she kill my sim anyway? That is weird. She said it looks like it wasn't one of the newer sims that was mms ready for the phone. Sound like BS to me but who knows. Maybe that explains why this isnt working for some. I will try tomorrow. Hopefully the dude I know is working. That would be good.

To manually SSH the carrier settings in follow this:

Unzip this bundle. It should read ATT_US.bundle when done.

      ATT_US.bundle

SSH into your phone and navigate to /var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundles

There you will see a bundle called ATT_US, delete it and replace with the one downloaded.

      now navigate to /System/Library/Carrier Bundles

There you will see a bundle called ATT_US, delete it and replace with the one downloaded.

Now restart your phone and you should have the camera icon in the messages app.
thats how u put it on with no update

5.5 is the official one from AT&T. I took the 5.5 settings and added tethering and cellular data settings editing to them to create 6.0. If you are on 3.0 or 3.01 and want to tether then you need to upgrade to 6.0
