  • AT&T MMS Already Working for Some Folks?

Looks like some users are already receiving and sending MMS just fine on the AT&T US network. ModMyi.com member yotelefonotresg sent us some legit-looking screenshots of MMS coming through just fine on AT&T (yes, I'm fully aware you can do that easily on T-Mobile by changing the carrier name, but we've received decent enough proof to ask if anyone else is seeing this).

How bout you guys - any AT&T users able to send out MMS or receive them yet? EDIT: reports keep pouring in, looks like its true. AT&T is gradually turning on MMS throughout the US!

AT&T yesterday announced they'd have MMS ready by September, through a YouTube video (see below) you've probably already seen, by the new[er] AT&T talking head, Seth. I like Seth. He's a person, and he talks about AT&T crap that's been going on - straight up, and up front. Of course, he doesn't fix it... but he's a nice guy, right? I mean, that counts for something? Anything?

I can do MMS for like an hour now I am getting an error. My friend told me what I sent her she got it, BUT the telephone number was a number she didn't recognize, and a different area code.

For those of you with it working, what texting plan are you on? The regular texting, or the iphone texting plan? I'm on the regular plan, and mine doesn't send MMS yet.

What APN settings are you using? Everyone seems to use different ones.

I honestly don't know why iPhone mms capability has officially been suppressed all of this time...

BTW... Does anyone know the name of the cool background in the article's example? :0)

I had 5.0 but had some issues with the phone crashing, that being the only change I switched back to 4.0 and the phone is fine but no camera there now...
Ive been using 5.0 for about 2 months now and haven't had a problem. I figured I'd have to do the whole sim swap thing to get it to continue to work but only had to do it just the first time. I'm guessing that AT&T stopped doing their "sweeps" becuase they were so close to legitimately adding MMS "at the end of Summer"

On my 3GS been working since last nite, all I did is update the ipcc file, not a jailbroken phone. On my 3G, tried the same thing but won't work.

Mine works great! I can send video easily too!

"CARRIER AT&T 5.0" btdub, did the sim card swap and then added extra apn settings and it worked like a charm

My biggest thing with this whole ordeal is, AT&T and Apple are obviously coordinating their efforts. Apple didn't just spring on them the day of the 3GS release "Hey, just so you know, were going to have MMS and tethering capability added in"
And being they're going to offer it on the 3G, I can bet they've been talking about it for quite some time. Are we to believe that in the two years the iPhone has been around, or at least in the year we've had the 3G they couldn't have better prepared for this?
