  • AT&T MMS Already Working for Some Folks?

Looks like some users are already receiving and sending MMS just fine on the AT&T US network. ModMyi.com member yotelefonotresg sent us some legit-looking screenshots of MMS coming through just fine on AT&T (yes, I'm fully aware you can do that easily on T-Mobile by changing the carrier name, but we've received decent enough proof to ask if anyone else is seeing this).

How bout you guys - any AT&T users able to send out MMS or receive them yet? EDIT: reports keep pouring in, looks like its true. AT&T is gradually turning on MMS throughout the US!

AT&T yesterday announced they'd have MMS ready by September, through a YouTube video (see below) you've probably already seen, by the new[er] AT&T talking head, Seth. I like Seth. He's a person, and he talks about AT&T crap that's been going on - straight up, and up front. Of course, he doesn't fix it... but he's a nice guy, right? I mean, that counts for something? Anything?

i was too. but until i was getting random harassment calls and had to change my number, i got lucky with a few people at at&t who tried to get it working again and they insisted nothing was changed , but couldn't fix it. so ive been without it for about 3 weeks now.
cant wait until it gets turned on finally.

Lots of people have had their account fixed by a rep and are the lucky few... for the rest of us we have to wait

Probably a dumb question, but how? Did you have to modify something on the phone or did AT&T set it up for you or something?

Looks like AT&T is trying to do a little "cover your ***" PR. I know here in the Springs the network is completely unreliable and I get dropped calls daily. They have some serious network issues and that is my guess why they have not launched MMS yet. The additional strain on the network is going to bring it crashing down.
September 25th is going to be a bad day for AT&T I'm afraid.

AT&T is actually NOT behind. The average iPhone person uses over 10 times the amount of data of any other user. If you were to put the over 4 million iPhones on ANY other network it would cripple them just like it did AT&T. As a company it would not have been a smart decision to dump billions into their network without knowing how popular the iPhone was going to be... now they are playing catch up. Any other network would have approached it the same way.
