  • AT&T MMS Already Working for Some Folks?

Looks like some users are already receiving and sending MMS just fine on the AT&T US network. ModMyi.com member yotelefonotresg sent us some legit-looking screenshots of MMS coming through just fine on AT&T (yes, I'm fully aware you can do that easily on T-Mobile by changing the carrier name, but we've received decent enough proof to ask if anyone else is seeing this).

How bout you guys - any AT&T users able to send out MMS or receive them yet? EDIT: reports keep pouring in, looks like its true. AT&T is gradually turning on MMS throughout the US!

AT&T yesterday announced they'd have MMS ready by September, through a YouTube video (see below) you've probably already seen, by the new[er] AT&T talking head, Seth. I like Seth. He's a person, and he talks about AT&T crap that's been going on - straight up, and up front. Of course, he doesn't fix it... but he's a nice guy, right? I mean, that counts for something? Anything?

Go search on youtube for instructions how to do so. I've set it up on 3 phones so far, and it works perfectly. You can receive video messages from other phones too, it's not restricted to iPhones. BTW: The MMS is part of a standard text messaging plan. You're not required to get an MMS plan, and it acts as a normal text message. Maybe that's a constellation for the two years of wait time
      Constellation? lol

Hmm... I've follow the instructions to a 'T' and still nothing. Looks like most of us will have to wait 17 more days unless there's another method to try.

Good news everyone! I finally got my MMS working. I called a buddy that lives about 2 blocks away and he let me use his AT&T phone for about 10 minutes. Made a phone call and sent 1 text message then I went to wireless.att.com and changed my iPhone messaging plan to a normal messaging plan, popped my SIM card back into my phone and MMS worked instantly. I feel bad for all my friends tho, I'm now sending them random pictures constantly. Gotta make up for all the lost time!

I had mine working for a few days, but one day when I rebooted my phone, the little camera icon in the messages app just disappeard??? I checked the AT&T Carrier file was still at 5 and it was. I tried to reupload it from iTunes but the icon/button still hasn't returned?? Anyone else have this happen to them? And did you get it fixed?

same thing happened to me, just go to settings>general>reset> then reset all settings. don't worry it wont delete any data its just going to reset the phone and reboot, you should have a camera back in there. I did this a few mins. ago.

Does this mean that MMS is just going to suddenly be available, or am I going to have to update my phone (3GS) and re-jailbreak? :/

I would imagine what will happen is they will be releasing the update which will contain a new and updated carrier version, in order to get everyone on the same settings. 5.1+?

So someone will end up extracting the carrier files from this update and will allow us to update our carrier settings without having to update to 3.1

At least that would be my guess. And I hope so

I have tried that several times. :/ And when I go to settings and Messages, the MMS option isn't there anymore, but in cellular network info, mms apn settings are still there.

edit: just noticed you said "all settings" I haven't reset that one yet, I've only done Network settings. I'll give it a try.

Edit 2: AMAZING! It worked!! Thanks!!!! ::clicking thanks button now::
