  • Element Now Available - New Lockscreen Cydget......

Hmm...pay close attention to this screenshot... pretty cool huh? Even has missed calls.

We have a new Lockscreen App on the streets tonight. The highly anticipated Lockscreen App, Element, has now been released. Element, designed by Teehan+Lax and implemented by Elias Limneos, provides access to all of your most needed information right from your iPhone's lock screen. Whether it be a recently missed call or a new e-mail message, you will no longer have to drill down deep into the device's UI just to see what's new.

You should look at the screenshot again. Its so awesome! .....

While I haven't had a chance to test drive this personally yet..... , but I would imagine that its going to have some work to do yet, to compete with other apps such as David Ashman's LockInfo. But as time goes by, I don't doubt to see many extensions coming to this. The framework should set up a fairly simple way for developers to extend it's uses.... in the near future.... sometime...

Did you look at it again? I swear you have to look again, its so cool....

Element has been implemented entirely in WebCycript, and installs to your lock screen as a Cydget, making it fully compatible with all existing Apple lock screen plugins, as well as most other third-party extensions.

Grab it live on Cydia..... or try to find it.. mwhaha

Twitter / Jay Freeman (saurik): Element, designed by @gtee ...

If you havent noticed already, the screenshots indicate this is an april fools joke April fools joke from @saurik, Although it appears you actually CAN download this... although the short description says "A Lame attempt at an April Fools Joke"

You can delete the package directly above Cydget in Cydia as well. It works in conjunction with Cydget. I cant remember exactly what it's called....but it's spelled similiarly to Cydget...starts with a "C".

when I look at packages in CYDIA, there IS NOTHING related besides the ELEMENT that I already deleted.. the only C things in packages, is Cydia installer, Categories, and another cydia thing.. everything else in there is my normal stuff. This is REALLY FRUSTRATING... THanks for the suggestions.. still stuck with it

Go to manage packages in cydia and click simple in the upper right hand side just under the battery. Now you should see Cydget and you can remove it.

Yeah, I took this off my phone last night. It's a great concept but still too buggy for me right now. I delete emails and it still shows them. Same for texts and missed calls.

Ditto. Man, thank you SO MUCH. As "simple" as it was, (no pun intended), it was driving me NUTS on how to get rid of it.

      Thanks again.

How much battery power is this going to drain? Seems like every time you show the lock screen it'll update. My phone dies fast enough with the normal amount of 3G use.

I'm going to wait until element is finalized, but looks like it could be a great addition.

is there anyway to add a battery below the weather/clock. i have a nice battery lockscreen when charging and i was hoping i could add a smaller smiliar version on element. maybe by editing

      /System/Library/LockCydgets/Element.cydget/resources/css/homescreen.css

      or something in

      /private/var/mobile/Library/Element/cache

      thanks in advance
