  • Microsoft Manager Claims Mac Inspired Windows 7, Gets Slapped

Microsoft's partner group manager was interviewed by PCR, a trade publication for computer resellers, and blurted that the company had tried to "create a Mac look and feel" with the Windows 7 operating system. A member of the Windows team quickly struck back on the team's blog, calling the remark "inaccurate and uninformed."

Aldous is in charge of the unit that deals with the company's resellers, which is highly significant to Microsoft as the software behemoth does not directly retail any of its products. In an interview mainly consisting of policy issues having to do with the relationship of Microsoft to the people that put the company's product on their shelves, Aldous made the following assertion.

One of the things that people say an awful lot about the Apple Mac is that the OS is fantastic, that its very graphical and easy to use. What weve tried to do with Windows 7 whether its traditional format or in a touch format is create a Mac look and feel in terms of graphics
Aldous rallied, though, returning to the party line about Windows 7's virtues. "We've significantly improved the graphical user interface, but it's built on that very stable core Vista technology, which is far more stable than the current Mac platform," Aldous said.

The smackdown arrived late yesterday. "Unfortunately, this came from a Microsoft employee who was not involved in any aspect of designing Windows 7," said Brandon LeBlanc, a company spokesman who authors most of the Windows 7 blog posts. "I hate to say this about one of our own, but his comments were inaccurate and uninformed."

Observers have noted look-and-feel similarities between Windows 7's revamped task bar and the Mac OS X dock. Computerworld highlighted some strengths of the taskbar in its "OS Deathmatch," saying that it is better at displaying thumbnails of an application's open windows. Computerworld did, however, give the win to Mac OS X, asserting that "no one beats Apple when it comes to design."

lol u apple fanboys are soooooo funny, i have a PC and i have OSX 10.5 x86 installed on it, and from my opinion the two OSs are far distinct from each other. there is no similarities what so ever, u all just hated cause Microsoft managed to create a far better OS than OSX, oh and by the way i tried 10.6 too and believe when i say that Windows 7 is far more stable than 10.6 snow leopard which is still so buggy ATM Specially at launch and i know u all gonna start bashing be because u all know deep inside that i'm right

I just love how stable windows is, don't you guys?
      (sarcasm)

How are macs not eye pleasing, they have amazing GUI, Microsoft has garbage primitive GUI.
      Who wins >_>? .::Mac

Funniest part is Bill Gates agrees with me with all I have said in this post.
Hence my video. (side note: its funny how bill gates likes the GUI of the macs when they actually didn't look that great in the early dates, imagine now! LOL.)

Second Funniest part, there is video on youtube where Bill gates is questioned about Vista, and basically answers saying Vista sucks (figuratively)
I see you continue to display your lack of intelligence.

I don't really need to comment on this any further.

Because you cannot comment, because you have no facts.
      And I do. Simple.

Since I'm most likely dealing with a 14 year old, I'll just stop here.

I'm off to play Modern Warfare 2. Maybe you Mac users will get a version in a few years.

I'm the one in second place- on the first day I got it (don't ask about the Screenname)
20 mins ago just got the thermal sight for my Vector SMG, and I got the AUG LMG
Also, the Bling perk is pretty damn good when you have the rapid fire attachment with Akimbo...

Haha, still with insults but with no facts proving your statements. Hey so why not insult a persons age right?

Haha 14, and 12, you both are most likely 10, because only little kiddies cry about something, and have nothing to back-them up.
      "With his English skills." LOL
      Sad little kid.
