I wouldn't install windows 7 if you paid me $29.99

Guess I better dust off my old college ID, Even though it's "Windows Vista 1.3" or whatever clever name it's been given, you can't beat that price.

Window 7 is awesome. If you've not used it yet, you shouldn't even be giving opinion. I have both Leopard and Window 7 on my computers. I can tell they are not different; the only problem Window now has to tackle is virus. If you're surfing the internet safely, there is no concern.

For $29 I will boot camp window 7.

I have Wndows 7 and it runs way better then vista boots up faster and a lot more less problems then vista, and virus problems haven't gotten a single on because i am running Bitdefender 2010 and protects me all around.

Why so much? I paid 10.00 for XP Student edition.
I guess I'll just get the free upgrade. Tri boot 7, Linux, & OS X on my laptop

acedemic pricing for windows Vista was only slightly higher than this.... I think the premium edition was around $59.. so why is this such a big deal?

Yea all in all windows 7 is a major improvement over Vista. And as noted a price of $29.99 is hard to pass up. I just ordered my copy.

I should order a copy, but I'll save my pennies as a broke college kid.

Don't let the fanboys fool you, Windows 7 actually is a very good OS having benchmarks showing IMPROVED performance over XP, an 8 year old OS. So the question is, does Snow Leopard have improved performance benchmarks over OS X Cheetah? ;]

What a terrible jab at Windows, OP. Maybe..just maybe...they figured out that broke kids can afford $30? It isn't that far of a leap to figure out that quantity>quality, in terms of sale. It's a basic economic lesson. Stop being a Mac fanboy, that's what gives them a terrible name.

Not that the OS doesn't do it itself. It's actually hilarious; I'm a freshman at school, and I look around and see so many Macs + iPod Touches.

And as a computer science major, people know I'm skilled behind a keyboard.
